I wish I had read these reviews before I chose this vet for my dog. I took her initially because she was limping on three legs and Dr. Liz was amazing at that time. She did a closed reduction of her hip, put the leg in an Ehmer's sling and gave us pain medication to take her home on. She recommended I have her re-xrayed every three days while in the sling, and at $200 per xray I just could not afford to do so many, so I was in agreement to do one 10 days later and then again two weeks after before we removed the sling. When they called me 7 days after setting the sling they asked if I could bring her in for her xray and I told them I could not pay $200 that day, but if I could pay Friday I would gladly bring her in immediately. They told me I could apply for Care Credit, but I did not want to take out a credit line for a $200 bill I could pay literally four days later in full. I told them I would bring her on Friday to be xrayed when I could pay in full. On Thursday morning my dog pulled her foot from the sling, thus compromising the whole point of the sling, which at this point she had been wearing approximately 10 days. After removing the sling she was walking normally and bearing weight on all four legs. She continued in this manner for the next 5 days. The following Monday she got up, walked around normally and after about an hour was again limping on three legs. I immediately called the vet for an appointment. When we went to the vet Dr Liz was EXTREMELY rude. She insinuated I was incompetent and did not have my dogs best interest in mind. When I explained the circumstances of why I was unable to bring her back for xrays (money and then on the Friday I would have brought her in my own grandmother had a stroke and I left town immediately late in the night Thursday night) she had zero compassion. She kept repeating that my only option was now a $2200 surgery and that she tried to save me money by doing the closed reduction and insinuated that if I had paid for the xrays every two days we wouldn't be here (the xrays at those times would have been normal as the dog WAS walking normally after the sling was removed at 10 days). So as I see it we would have been in this position REGARDLESS of me paying for xrays or not. Acting as though I do not care for my dog was rude and uncalled for. I asked her if she could attempt a closed reduction again and she said "I won't because I can't trust you to bring her back for rechecks and bandage changes". This was the first I'd even heard about a possibility of changing her sling at the two week mark. Initially it was ALWAYS going to be removed at two weeks if the xray was normal, which is would have been because at the two week mark she was WALKING NORMALLY. Needless to say we will NOT be back to this clinic and I would not recommend anyone bring their animals to this vet clinic. It seems that they are more interested in making money than caring for animals and they find humor in teaching pet owners expensive lessons when they don't get their way initially. My dog could have had her hip reduced last night, but because of the run around I got from ACC my only option this morning IS surgery. Had she not wasted my time yesterday ANY other vet could have set her leg back in place and I could have paid $500 instead of the $2200 I'm now stuck with. Merry Christmas to me. "DOCTOR" LIZ is unprofessional, uncompassionate, and I wouldn't take my animals back to her even if it were a dire emergency. I'd rather pay twice as much and take them some place who has their best interest in mind.
Our family has taken all of our pets to ACC since we moved to the area 20 years ago. The doctors and staff are both professional and caring. Dr Sharon and Dr Paul always take time to talk us through our pets conditions and treatment options, including long term expectations (we've had dogs with epilepsy and severe hip dysplasia, so long term care is necessary). They always remember us and our dogs, and we've never felt rushed or ignored. Thank you, ACC for 20 years of fantastic service and care! :)
They are money hungry, and lack forethought about a pet age. He was 13 and weighed 13 lbs and normal in all respects, except it was hard to eat. My cat was needed 3 teeth removed, and a sebaceous cyst removed. He also had mole on his lip that I told them not to touch, they removed it anyway. After the the surgery we was doomed. He could not eat, could not walk and died 4 months later. I brought him back after the surgery and they were indifferent about his condition. They offered no compensation or any other follow up care. When he we put him down he weighed only 7 lbs. THEY KILLED MY CAT. DMV was Sharon
They have a nice staff and a beautiful facility. I would recommend Animal Care Clinic to anyone. Today was my first visit and I was impressed.
This clinic only cares about money. I have been going here since I got my dog in 2004 and not once has any doctor remembered my dog or his condition or prior care or any past concerns or anything. They always tell me to come back in two weeks and when I come back it is pointless because all they do is examine him and tell me the same thing. The boarding experience here was terrible. The grooming is terrible. The staff is a joke. There are so many doctors and yet only one of them is compassionate and professional. Doctor Sharon and Doctor Paul always talk to me as if I am an idiot. I have not one good thing to say about this place other than it is clean. I am choosing to go to a vet who actually cares about the well being of my dog.
