ARLINGTON HTS ANIMAL HOSP HAS BEEN PRIMARY CARE GIVER FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS. DR KUHNLE HAS BEEN MY PRINCIPAL DOCTOR, BUT DRS FLASKA, BARKSDALE, & CLOW HAVE BEEN MY BACK UPS, TOO. MY 2 SIB HUSKIES, 3 GER SHEPHERDS, & 2 RUSSIAN SHEEPDOGS HAVE BEEN CLIENTS OF THE HOSPITAL THEIR WHOLE LIVES. MY EXPERIENCE IS EXTREMELY POSITIVE. THE DOCTORS ARE CARING & KNOWLEDGEABLE. IT'S A OBVIOUS TO ME & TO OTHER CLIENTS I'VE TALKED TO IN THE HOSP LOBBY THAT THE SUPPORT STAFF & DOCTORS ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE WELFARE OF THE ANIMALS THEN THE MONEY. I'M SUBMITTING THIS UNSOLICITED. I'M VERY MUCH AN ADVOCATE FOR MY DOGS TO SEEK OUT THE BEST VETERINARY CARE.
I would give this place zero stars if I had the choice. I used to work in the kennel which was well organized but returning as a client I realized that the front desk/doctor has no idea what's going on, Connie the receptionist and Dr Flaska as well. Im in the process of bringing my dog to Hawaii and they have a very strict protocol to follow. First and foremost before my dogs scheduled appointments I called to explain what needed to be done, I spoke with Connie. Upon coming in to PREPAY for my appointments, as my parents were bringing my dog in to finish up the procedure, Connie not only gave me snobby, above-all attitude when I told her I wanted to prepay for specific things "How do I know this is all that is going to be done". She also had no idea how to pull up charges for a health certificate and ended up over charging me instead of asking someone for help. Most businesses these days are happy when you prepay for services but it was literally like pulling teeth from a child to get Connie to take my money. I then wrote down the specifics of what needed to be written on my dogs blood test(2 simple things-a microchip # and destination Hawaii) and the morning after my mother brought him in Dr Flaska called (6am my time)to ask if my dog had a microchip-I figured after going to school for years to get a degree that taking a wand over my dogs back to check for a microchip would be the easiest of things to do as unlicensed workers at shelters even have this ability. Overall I'm extremely disappointed in this animal clinic and how they disregarded my requests even when written down in the simplest of terms to make thing easier and unquestionable-good thing I didn't give them the five page long version of what needs to be done or they'd probably still be reading it and scratching their heads... DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A COMPETENT OFFICE TO DO EVEN THE MOST BASIC OF PROCEDURES.
This is a great place to take your pets. They are friendly and attentive. They take special efforts to make your baby feel good because they know that most animals are not a fan of the vet. Refilling medicine is quick and easy. You need to call ahead so they have time to get the meds filled or if you need a follow call from a doctor. Every docotor we have dealt with has been great.
Great place easy to get appointment. Friendly Staff. Very Expensive. Just Basic yearly shots Rabies and Distemper total $95.00.
DO NOT GO TO THIS VET!!! First of all, they reminded me of a car mechanic who purposely attempts to rip you off. They charged us over $300 for some blood work for our dog, said they'd call us with the results a day later, and then never called...I finally got around to calling them 4 days later, and they couldn't find the report...called us back later that day with the results which were of course negative...made us feel ripped off and treated poorly.
