We took our pup to AETC late night, 1AM because of a constant vomiting, very bloody stool problem. Initially, we were greeted by a young woman who was exceptionally friendly with our little girl and very comforting for someone who had just witnessed exploding bloody diarrhea for the first time! To be honest, the pricing for ALL of the exams were overwhelming and I did question the need for a radiology test, however, I understood their desire to exhaust all possible issues, since we did make them aware that our pup has a history of getting into anything within reach. Her illness Could have very well stemmed from swallowing something toxic. We were able to talk to the doctor and were honest about our situation and were able to get her medicine with the overnight stay; they were able to do what we could not do at home for her. All in all, our family was blessed with something less severe than what we anticipated and I was told I can always call with questions if something happens while she is recovering. Doctors were stern and blunt, perhaps this is much for some families to take when caring for a sick pet, but it was preferred with us. We wanted to know what our options and risks would be, as we did run into a financial problem and the answers were honest, which again, is appreciated when in a situation like ours. We were given medication to help our pup and I feel confident that with utilizing AETC support and a keen desire to be very proactive in asking any questions one is unsure of in this kind of situation, I am doing everything I can do, within my parameters, to ensure my puppy gets better. Thanks, guys!
Our cat Helena was diagnosed with skin cancer on her leg. We were referred to AETC by our vet and were really impressed with the care they gave our cat. Our vet was realistic with her prognosis and allowed us to be in charge of her care and treatment. If you have an animal that is dealing with cancer, I recommend going here. I felt like she was in the best hands.
It was the location my cat took his last breath. It was the most traumatic experience and heartbreaking that I knew one day would happen, I took him in at 4am and they saw him right away, unfortunately he had fluid in his lungs and it was not looking great. They provided me with 3 options drain the fluid to release stress/follow up with treatments, medication or putting him to sleep. I didn't know what to do I broke down out in tears. The Dr guided me and I asked for an honest response. At first I wanted to attempt to save him by draining the fluids but after discussing that this would always return and it was like he was drowning I decided it was best to put him to sleep, I cried and cried and cried. As they were getting him ready for us to see him he had a cardiac arrest and passed away.... A few days later in the mail, I received a personal note from the veterinarian about Max's passing it left a caring impression and a thoughtful smile on my face. I miss him so much.
The entire team was fantastic, from the front desk staff - George, to the Oncology nurse Kristen to Dr. Hintermeister. They were friendly, helpful and did a great job explaining in detail the disease our dog faced, the treatment required and the potential outcomes. The were understanding and answered all of our questions. We witnessed much of the rest of the staff during our six hour visit doing their jobs. They were all great with every client and their pets from beginning to end.
Wally West was hit by a car. AETC were calm, professional and reassuring. 2 months later, he is 100% and he had such a good time under their care, he'll be back to donate blood!
