I can't begin to rave enough or tell you how each Animal and Owner is Respected and loved. The Doctor's and Staff are Professional, truthful, Gentle and really caring about your pet. They have a marvelous money saving plan based on wellness that is not an insurance plan but saves you thousands! Almost every Client has the Plan and speak of it in the reception room , knowing it's saved them thousand's of dollar's. My beloved "CASH and CARRY", 9 year old Yorkshire Terrier brother's were born with genetic alergies and both had additional leg and in-grown nail and paw problems. My Carry especially had 1 nail that grew into his back paw and Cash had a du-claw that was also very difficult to maintain. Both had eye allergies, ear allergies and Carry espcially suffered painfully from skin legion's. They had the best of care and were loved when they came. Every visit was free, because I had the Plan's in place! If it hadn't been for the wonderful care they always received at Banfield Pet Hospital and their Wellness Plan's both of them had, My "BOY's, my life and their lives would have been over, many years' earlier. Both recently could no longer live with the very painful degenerative diseases they they were born with. We were there every month! It was a very difficult and continuously excruciating to see them suffer.I already had a stroller for 7 year's and other major investment's of love for "my ANGEL"S WITH FUR". It was just time for them to " Cross over the Rainbow Bridge". 2/4/20014.

Okay, honest to goodness truth. The Vets here are all great. Informative, good bedside mannor with pets, slightly newbie mentality but thats ok.. However, front office? seriously the worst customer service I have EVER received. My husband and I are medical professionals and several of or friends are Vets, so we know how things go and are supposed to go. Each and every single time we ave called or shown up for an appt, or needed a legitimate questioned to be answered- we get absolute crap. To be honest, the only reason why we choose Banfield is because of the puppy plan.(and because a friend of mine is a Vet at another location-- and hates it because if her untrained staff...) It was an "easy" way for us to get the care we needed for our puppy. Its advertised very attractively, sick visits and immunizations all in 1 pretty expensive package. What an awful mistake. In this case, we should have listened to our gut and paid more money for better care. I call to ask a question, and get placed on hold for 25 min. Call because my dog is sick and requires medical attention- get told no appt are avail. (even though we PAY for sick visits in the puppy plan.) In the middle of a crisis was told to call later because the poor girl was busy. Are you kidding me??? My husband and I are animal people are care for our pets as we do our family. So folks seriously, If you care about your pet, please go elsewhere. The minute we can cancel, we will. Sadly we have 3 months left. I have no idea how we are going to get thru these next few weeks. So, summary- WORST customer service ever. Note to Banfield, screen your staff better. This is how you can actually keep customers  We should have listened to the other bad reviews..See Yelp for other reviews.

I just felt like I should say something. This has been my vet since I got my puppy over a year ago. And while they're not always the most organized, and dealing with multiple doctors can be frustrating, these doctors work with me to get my dog the best treatment on my budget. And they remember him, and are always very excited to see him. I've never felt pressured to opt for costly treatments. My dog recently developed a food allergy, he had a series of infections and eventually hives all over his body. After trying antibiotics, the doctor told me that it could be either an environmental allergy, a food allergy, or both. She could have pushed the expensive skin test to pinpoint the exact allergy but instead she helped me eliminate some of the likely candidates and put him on a restrictive food diet. His hives cleared up, his infection is gone, and his coat is shiny as ever. When we came in for a checkup, she insisted on being the doctor to see him. Its that sort of dedication and understanding that has kept me going back to Banfield. My roommate has been going to them for years as well. They were supportive when she had to put her dog down, and were unbelievably excited to see her with a new dog years later. I can't speak for crate treatment, my dog is 52 lbs and crate trained, and to be honest, he loves the vet, more people and dogs to say hi to. Just thought I'd give them some positive feed back.

I would take my dog to Banfield when I lived in Texas and found them to be professional, courteous, and reasonably priced. So when I moved to Chicago, I expected the same level of service here. However, this is not the case. I had signed up my 8-year old dog for the Wellness plan and was told that he could only be on the plan if I left him there all day for his checkup. About 20 minutes after we walked in for our first appointment, they called us up and immediately took my dog's leash and led him back. There was no introducing themselves to the dog or letting me say goodbye. They just told me that they'd call when they were done. Three hours later, I get a call that my dog is snapping at them and so they can't treat him. When I get there, I find out that after they took him from me, they took him into the back, put him into a small cage (he's 55 lbs), and later tried, rather unsuccessfully, to take him out. Now, I don't know about you, but I don't know any animal that appreciates being treated that way. Maybe the nurses at Banfield need to learn that you must gain an animal's trust before he'll respond to you positively. Suffice to say, they informed me that I'm not allowed to use the Wellness plan and will have to place a muzzle on the dog whenever the doctor sees him. And because of the muzzle, the doctor won't even look at his eyes (and obviously cannot check his teeth or gums) because he's now an "aggressive" dog. Of course, they still charge for those services when they bill me. All this, after being seen by other vets without incident for 7 years! I'm definitely going to do some research before choosing another vet.
