I rarely write reviews, but noticed quite a few negative ones and thought I could add a bit of perception. I've been going to VCA for the last 4 years before recently moving overseas. I would say there were times I waited quite awhile-which can be frustrating-because you can't make appointments. But as my dog aged, I became a bit concerned with his legs and health, just to ensure I keep him happy for a few years longer. And this team was great! The front desk has a few key team members who have been there for a long time that are very knowledgeable-give the others time as they're learning, and I just felt like if I was patient, they would eventually get you all the info you needed. I never felt they weren't transparent with the bills. In fact, they usually showed me the bill or let me see it if I asked prior to paying. I don't have much comparison in terms of costs because as my dog increases in age, so, too, do the bills! My priority is to make sure he's comfortable with his arthritis, so I do put quite a bit of investment in him and don't mind. I've sought other's ideas of vets, but nothing trumped enough to leave, so, I stayed with them. I saw each of the vets, and overall I thought they were great, but Dr. Hunt is truly my favorite. My dog loves her, and I just clicked with her. Overall, I think everyone is very friendly and nice there-it just might take a bit more time than if you could make an appointment.

I have brought all of my cats to this location over the years. With the exception of one bad visit, I've had an overall good experience. The vet techs are knowledgeable about domestic pets, and honestly try to give people practical pet care information. Since both of my felines have lived beyond 15 years, I have to give credit to the staff VCA. Yes, they are a little pricey, but worth the money.

BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE – and check your bill, go through every single line item. This place is trying to run an organized scam (vets and staff) – Vets demand an appointment and exam before selling a dog shampoo. When I came in for a checkup, they slammed me with $450.00 bill. Double charges, extra fees, they even managed to include the Nail Trim (twice), exam (twice) – an all this on the same bill. Be very careful – this place is a HUGE scam. I’m not even sure that the doctors are licensed veterinarians. This place is on the brink of getting investigated.

My cat has a very bad fever for more than 3 days now, already went to VCA Chicago North and they were simply not able to get her better. Not only that but their only concern was how many exams I was going to pay for so they could profit from this. They clearly did not care for my pet health and wanted to do as many procedures as possible to make more money. I have been there three times, spent more then $500.00 and my cat still has a very bad fever. This comes to show how much they want your pet to get better.
