They KILLED my 7 month old Kitten. This is a post long overdue, but definitely worth warning others about before it's too late. We brought our kitten in starting from 2 months old and at that time, Dr. Ash was great and took a lot of interest to our pet. To make a very long story short, she was scheduled to be spayed and was supposed to take a blood test ahead of time to determine if she was clear for the procedure. After she was spayed, she did not eat or drink for days, and I called almost everyday to see if that was normal. I was constantly reassured it was. On Day 4, something just told me it was really off, but the vet still said it was normal and suggested I tube feed her. I did that Day 5&6, and when she still refused and was lethargic to the point that she would lay in one spot 24/7, I demanded to be seen on Day 7. Dr. Ash asked me to bring her in, and once her took her to the back, the next words out of his mouth when he came back into the room was, "She's having a cardiac arrest. Do you wish to revive her?" A SEVEN month old cat having a cardiac arrest???!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS? She was revived and over the next hour or so, her health deteriorated. No one knew why, and the vet told me she would have to be moved to a hospital via an oxygen tank, which Banfield did not have. SO I had to drive to the hospital, bring the massive oxygen tank back with me, put my kitten in it and transfer her myself. At the hospital, the vet acted super quick and within a couple of hours told me that she was infected after the spaying. Something occurred during the spaying that infected her in the surgery spot, which then quickly spread all over her body and now SHE WAS GOING TO DIE. Had she been brought in earlier, had they done post op checkups, this would've been caught earlier with certainty. After having to let our cat go, we were devastated and were determined to make sure Banfield faced repercussions. Going to ct over this and revoking his license would be way more costly than the hospitalization costs unfortunately, so we turned to at least have those costs covered for THEIR mistake. We called numerous times after the surgery, contacted the board, the managers, etc - anyone we could think of and NO ONE RESPONDED. One board member did return my call, but after I called again, I never heard from her. We submitted numerous claims, but never received a response. Turning now to Yelp and other review boards is now our only hope. They need to face some consequences, but even if they don't, at least others will be warned of their terrible service and be careful with their beloved pets. They refused to cover the burial costs as well. We buried her, but after filing complaints, we were told to do an autopsy which they would pay for. Might I add, they didn't pay for that either. We had to un-earth her, and were told they'd pay for burial again. Never happened. After the autopsy, they kept my dead kitten's body in the freezer and with no response, I have no idea what they did to her. KEEP AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
I loved my experience here, and my cat made a lot of new friends! The staff was very helpful when it came to making sure that my cat was comfortable, and they made sure that I knew everything about all of the procedures they were doing before they did them. Me and my cat felt so comfortable here, and the prices were also very inexpensive. They have just acquired a new customer, and I would definitely recommend them to all furry moms and dads!
Was recommended by a family member. Made an appointment for my dog only to arrive and told I was late my appt was a half an hour ago. And that they can't do anything the vet is already under stress because she's the only one there. They are looking at me like I'm crazy. I am very good with writing things down so there is no way I messed up the appointment time. No apology or anything from the staff. $id not even want to reschedule. I will take my fur baby elsewhere.
Let's put it this way, if you want to save thousands of dollars on vet bills then go here. I have been with them for almost 5 years now and just got a new puppy along with the older one. Free 6month check ups, free doctor visits, free neuter/spaying, discounts on medication. $25/mo gives me all of that plus a free dental cleanings. To date I have saved over $5,000. If you don't get this you are a moron. Obviously there may be some bad branches but I have yet to come across one, very nice people. You have to be nice in order to receive nice. LIFE LESSON:)!
They did a nice job. Not really sure about using a corporate vet.
