My wife and I signed up for a veterinary plan in January 2013 for a stray cat we adopted. In December 2013, a call service hired by Northgate contacted my wife to ask if she would like to renew our veterinary plan, and she gave a non-commital response saying that she would need to talk to me before renewing. We were told by the Hospital Manager at Northgate (Glenda) yesterday that it is their policy to auto-renew anyone who does not give a specific answer of "no" to this call service. Thus, we were auto-renewed for 2014 without consent. Northgate proceeded to take about $30 per month from us for each month in 2014 (except December). We did not know this plan had been renewed, and we did not visit Northgate during 2014. When I called Northgate to get this straightened out, they flat out refused to give us a refund of what was taken for 2014. Glenda first told my wife that she had one month to use all of the services allowed by the plan before they expired. She did back down from that and agreed to give us a 12 month window to use the services. I will never purchase another service from Northgate. If they are willing to perform business practices such as this, what else are they capable of?
I have used Northgate for many years and at least 7 different pets (dogs and cats} and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Doesn't matter which doctor or assistant who attends, I always feel they treat my pets with empathy and professional care. The advice they give is always in the best interest of my pet. Thank you Northgate!
We have been going to Northgate Small Animal Hospital in Collinsville since we moved to O Fallon in 2009. They were recommended to us before we got in the area. We have three dogs and two cats and their care is tremendously important to us. Through the years, we have had our share of illnesses and the doctors and staff at Northgate have been terrific! They are caring, knowledgeable, and always willing to take the time to answer any questions. Equally important, they have taken the time to get to know our pets and show great compassion. Their office hours are very flexible and they are a very friendly, yet professional, clinic. We highly recommend Northgate Small Animal Hospital!
This is just simply the best veterinary clinic that I have ever been to. The facility is immaculately clean, easy to get to, and has hours that fit into my hectic schedule. The staff is small and you'll always see the same few faces when you go in. They'll know you by name, and they'll actually care a lot about you and your dog/cat/whatever! Dr Edgar has been particularly great with my family carefully explaining every day conditions as well as helping us understand serious diseases. I love that she doesn’t talk to me like I went to medical school. I don't know how many times I've said to someone there, "Thank you so much for your extra efforts. You have really gone above and beyond and I'm sure you know that is not the status quo". They were extremely sensitive during my dog's difficult battle with cancer and they left me knowing that I had done everything I could and he had been in the best possible hands. The prices are great and they have a great client referral program. Needless to reiterate, I highly recommend
When my cat recently needed a rabies booster and a checkup, I looked up the local vets and clinics online to figure out where I should take her. Northgate had consistently good reviews, so I decided to give them a try, and I'm glad I did! Everything about my experience with them was fantastic. Requesting an appointment through their website was quick and easy, and the staff were very helpful both online and in person. Dr. Patrick took the time to do a thorough examination of my cat, and I really appreciated his explanation of the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of rabies vaccine available. Some of the other reviews have complained about the cost, but I found Northgate to be completely reasonable: a full checkup set me back about $70, including rabies and distemper vaccination, and the peace of mind it gave me to know that my (big) little kitten was fit and healthy and protected against disease for another year is worth far more than what I paid. It's possible that other vets may be cheaper, but I certainly can't imagine any other clinic in the area also matching the friendliness, warmth, and quality of service I found at Northgate.
