My name is Connie Coppel, my family and I have been going to Vermilion Hillcrest for 30 years we loved Dr. Richards he was a wonderful vet. The best one we had every had and Ethan who has been at the hospital all this time is also wonderful. When Dr. Richards retired our new vet was Dr. Jill Bair. Our poodle Katie had a large cancerous tumor on her back leg and she also had heart problems and she had kidney problems. Dr. Jill checked and all of her lab work was good. So Dr. Jill took the large tumor off of her leg saving it and her life. She took care of Katie and all her health problems for the next few years. I am sure with any other vet we would have lost Katie years before we did. She also has given all our other pet great care. We had taken in a friends dog that needed treatment that we could not afford and we was trying to get help paying for her surgery and Dr. Jill talked to the charity and filled out some paper work so our dog could get her treatment. She also took care of my beagle/basset Queen that I just lost today from a heart problem. Queen also had cushing, which caused many problems. Dr. Jill worked very hard to take care of her problems. She really cares about the pets and their owners she cares for. She does not write off your pet if they are very sick or old, but she will tell you the truth and will work very hard to make their life the best it can be. I am sure we would not have had our queen if it was not for the great care she had at Vermilion Hillcrest with Dr. Bair at Vermilion Hillcrest. They will not run your bill up with unnecessary test and other cost. We have talked to many other people who their pets go to Dr. Bair they lover her also. thanks Connie

I have been using Vermilion Hillcrest Animal Hospital for over 20 years and have always received great care for my pets and great service from the staff. Dr. Jill Bair has been our vet for many years. She started with Jax, our diabetic dog who was a huge challenge to stabilize on Insulin. Her knowledge and guidance aided us in prolonging his life for several years and more importantly, giving him quality of life. When we got our new rescue and found him to have multiple health problems, she got him started right away on a plan to improve his health. He was a happy dog and we attribute a lot of this to the care she gave to him. She didn't hesitate to recommend we see a specialist when she felt it was necessary and would help his condition. When we lost Apollo, she was there to help us deal with the loss by answering questions and helped us through the grieving process. Dr. Bair took care of our cat, Puddy, who developed a sudden back condition that left his hind end paralyzed. We thought it was the end but she treated him and within weeks, he was running around like normal. She aided with surgery on Syd's leg, who is again able to run and play. Syd loves Dr. Bair and doesn't mind going to the vet at all, even if she has to get shots! Dr. Bair continues to care for our dog and three cats with compassion and a high level of professionalism, tact and enthusiasm. Ethan, Kristin and Karen are all wonderful as well. The whole team treats us and our pets like family. I couldn't ask for better care and would highly recommend this clinic and staff to everyone.

Dr. Bair and the staff are awesome! My Boston terrier, Ritzi, was in terrible pain when we went in and they were very caring and kind. Dr. Bair found that Ritzi had swallowed something foreign and performed surgery that afternoon! To her surprise, she found a large googly eye (used in crafts) staring at her from Ritzi's stomach! She did a wonderful job and Ritzi healed right up and is back to her energetic, playful self. Thanks to everyone at Vermilion Hillcrest! Ritzi was very excited to go in and visit them today as she is always greeted warmly and given plenty of loving. Thanks to everyone at Vermilion Hillcrest Animal Hospital for your compassion and hard work.

I started going to Vermilion Hillcrest in 1988 as a fourteen year old with my two Boston Terrier puppies Hank and Brother! My Boston Terrier that I had from age five to fourteen Stony had just passed away, and I knew Dr. Richards was an excellent vet! For twenty years Dr. Richards did an excellent job with Hank, Brother, Billie a mixed breed dog, and Stony II for the first several years of Stony II's life! I drove all the way to a small town 40 miles past Indianapolis to adopt Stony II, a Boston terrier puppy, and I named him in honor of my late father, and late grandfather, and Stony I! Dr. Jill Bair replaced Dr. Richards at Vermilion Hillcrest when he retired, and she became Stony II's new vet! While I was driving back and forth from Danville to Normal Illinois earning my B.S. from Illinois State University Stony started to become ill! I took Stony to see Dr. Jill Bair, and she told me that he had been bitten by a small tick, and he had lyme disease! So, I gave Stony the lyme disease medicine prescribed by Dr. Jill Bair for several weeks, Stony fought my giving him the medicine, and his condition worsened! I then called Vermilion Hillcrest, and took Stony to see Dr. Bair, she said that he would die, and that there was nothing she could do to help him! I begged Dr. Jill Bair to help Stony, and she refused stating that medicine does not work that way, and that she could not stay there all night! She also tossed him in a cage in the back, and when I returned to Vermilion Hillcrest with Melissa Michael from the University of Illinois to take Stony to the University of Illinois vet school, Dr. Bair had removed Stony's IV, so he had no fluids going into his body on the rainy, foggy dangerous drive from Vermilion Hillcrest to the University of Illinois vet school that night! The University of Illinois vet school immediately started working on Stony that night, and pulled out all of the stops! Dr. Tara Graffwallner took very good care of Stony at the University of Illinois vet school, and treated him as if he were her own dog! Stony was able to return home to be with me for five nights before dying at age five after being helped by Dr. Graffwallner! I would not recommend any one in the Danville, Illinois area, or the immediate area in Indiana going any where near Dr. Jill Bair with a dog if they value their dog at all! Dr. Richards knew what it was all about, and it is a sad state of affairs when this type of behavior goes on with professional people, DVM's need to be held accountable for their actions just like medical doctors are held accountable for their actions! Settle for nothing less than the best! Dr. Cooper and Dr. Carbone are the best DVM's in the Danville, Illinois area!
