I rescued four puppies without a dime to care for them. One was injured by an adult dog very badly. I had no choice but to try to find him help in anyway I could. I called Edwardsville Pet Hospital and the lady who answered the phone without hesitation told me to bring the pup in and she would help. I had lost faith in animal hospitals over the years with bad experiences but it was restored with one phone call to these amazing people. They truly care about the animals and I am blessed to have been touched by their compassion. I would recommend this hospital to anyone and I am thankful for all of their help with Jackson. Our family has taken all of our animals over the last 20 years to Dr. VanAnrooy and her staff and they are WONDERFUL. They are always nice and try to help in any way possible even when you are on a budget and don't try to force unnecessary procedures. They treat your pets as if they were their own.

Never go to this Vet!!! This clinic puts business and money ahead of your pets needs even if it means killing your best friend. We are new to Edwardsville and we came home to find our black lab unable to walk one evening after work. We rushed him to the closest vet which happened to be Edwardsville Pet Hospital. They told us he likely had internal bleeding and they would take X rays to find out more but there was no way for them to know what exactly it was without an ultrasound which they couldn't do from their office and he would need a blood transfusion right away which they also could not do. After taking the x ray the vet showed us what appeared to be a mass and told us our only option was to take him to an emergency clinic on the other side of St. Louis (at rush hour). We asked if there was one in Springfield because we could get there faster. They sent us to one in Springfield. About 10 minutes out from the emergency clinic he passed away. Weeks later I have found out from a different vet that there is an emergency clinic 10 minutes away in Collinsville and that some vets don't send people there because they are "competition." The Collinsville emergency center has donor animals and can easily and quickly perform blood transfusions and other emergency services. There is no way of telling if Mason would have made it or not but we would have at least been able to get him medical attention right away without driving him an hour either direction. Oh and don't worry they had no problem charging me for the office visit and x ray before we left knowing that there were better options than putting him in a car for an hour. Clearly their bottom line comes before the wellness and life of anyone's pets. I will now do everything in my power to tell everyone in this town about the terrible ethics and practices of this dog funeral home they mask as an animal hospital. Shame on you Edwardsville Pet Hospital!

I recently adopted a stray kitten and took him here for his first round of shots. The ladies here were wonderful! They played with the kitten and were so kind/patient with me. They explained everything I needed to know and got me all set up with a care package. I was so nervous since this is my first pet, but honestly I can’t wait to go back and see these wonderful women. They truly care about the animals

I have been going to this vet for 15+ years, ever since I was a little girl with my 1st dog. They are kind, understanding and wonerful. They work with you when you are on a budget to find the best treatment options, and even sent a card and checked up on me when I had to put my old dog down. My heart for the last 7 years has been very sick with diabetes and went blind...and they have been fantastic. He has been a very happy little guy due to them and all they're hard work. I would recommend them highly to anyone.
