Dr. Sackman is wonderful. I don't understand all the 1 stars people give out because she is booked and they haven't even gone to her. Her love of animals is obvious when you see her with your pet and she is very thorough.

I went to look for Dr. Sackman's office number and happened to see the low ratings for her and had to stop to review her. I do not work for Dr. Sackman. Nor am I friends with her or a relative. She simpy is our vet. I/we have had four dogs and four cats for many years, so needless to say we've seen her for various things over the course of 12 years. I've never found her to be anything but caring, attentive and down to earth. If she can't get you "in", many times they will offer for you to drop the animal off and Dr. Sackman will examine them in between surgeries or appointments and call you with what she's found. She never "does" anything without calling you first, sensitive to cost factors for most people. She always gives us the facts and options and lets us decide. Never is pushy or judgmental about what you should or shouldn't do for your animal. Her staff is always considerate and compassionate. I just wanted to post another side to the story.

I started going to Dr. Sackman when I got my Labrador puppy in 2008. From the start, my dog had awful allergies and would break out in hives and hot spots often. Dr. Sackman is our hero! She saved my dog's life on several occasions, squeezing us in when a random reaction would occur, or on a day that she was booked, offering to let me bring my dog in so she could look at her in between appointments. Dr. Sackman IS the only veterinarian at this clinic, so if she is booked she will try her hardest to fit in a sick animal if she is able to. I now have two cats that I rescued and Dr. Sackman has helped me get both of them back into a healthy condition from when I got them. The clinic is very family-like. The techs and Doctor know their clients, are highly informative, and are extremely caring. I recommend this clinic and doctor to anyone that wants thorough, quality, pet care. You cannot expect a doctor, who knows nothing about your pet (size, weight, health condition, etc) to give you an estimate for a surgery over the phone. There are things that come into play when giving an estimate, in which the animal needs to be seen first. It would not be an honest estimate without knowing the condition of your pet.

Doc is always "out of the office" or "busy" hard to get an appt which worries me for if my pet gets really sick and wait time takes forever. She does love animals, that is clear, but it takes more than love sometimes to be a good vet/Dr.

FIRST I WANT TO POINT OUT THE ONLY GOOD REVIEW IS FROM AN EMPLOYEE AT SACKMANS!!! I find it funny that a previous customer said she was always on vacation. I always had trouble getting my pets into her office because she was ALWAYS on a trip. She is almost barely there. She is an incompetent vet. She did not have something so simple as a blood pressure cuff?! As a result I lost my pet because she was not able to do her job. I am writing this not to bash her, but to warn people of her misdiagnosis to both of my animals. I am now dealing with my other sick animal's condition because she did not do proper testing on him as well. She is also more pricey than vets around the area if you are curious about pricing. Please protect your animals.
