Amazing vet staff! They take care of dozens of my dogs a week as I run a rescue and they get the absolute best care! Plus they are more than fairly priced. I take my own dogs to see them and refer everyone I know to then. The Dr's are extremely caring and always answer every question me or any of my fosters have. As for the bad reviews, people needs to understand that animals are like people. They can have bad reactions and even with people you have to pay for the care no matter what.

My family and my husband's family has been using this hospital for over 35 years! The doctors here have been caring for my personal animals for 15 years+. When my 10 lb Dachshud mix was hit by a large delivery service truck, it was very touch and go. They provided all of the services needed to save her LIFE, leg (it needed pins), care for a damaged sternum and badly bruised internal organs. That was 6 years ago, and she is still happily running on all 4 legs! These doctors have seen us thru infections, allergies, dental care; the gamut. They have provided "touch base calls" after they have provided care for each of my dogs. They even went above and beyond when I adopted a "Katrina" dog who was seriously ill and malnurished. These are excellent doctors who DO care and feel compassion for both pet and owner...

Okay, admittedly I have an issue with the whole tie in with Petland as it seems like one giant scam to fleece new pet owners. AND FLEECE this vet did!! My first FREE well visit a week after purchase cost about $100 as they charged for stool testing, shots, and medicine for worms which she did not have (but later told me she had been 'exposed to'). This first visit also was to tell me that the FREE spay I received would cost me more than $270. Of course, when it came time for the actual spay additional things popped up for a total of about $350. The office staff is surly and does not seem to have a clue. I called to set up the spay appointment and was told that I could wait for the rabies shot and do that with the spay. Then they call me up the day before to confirm and tell me that I need to bring my dog in immediately that day for blood work. Of course, I can wait until the day of the surgery, but instead of $75 (cost to send it out) it would be $115 (cost to do in-house).......WHAT? The only information I was given was the price breakdown for costs related to my 'free' spay. No what to do before, what to bring, etc. They gave me heartworm medication, that when I checked on line is not recommended for my type of dog. When I called to ask about this I was told that 'hey since it's been given to her once and she is okay all should be fine.' Of course, they keep telling me it's not them its a Petland issue.......Please! Their inability to schedule things properly, give out full information, etc., is not a Petland issue. Also, they have this deal with Petland that REQUIRES you to use them, get your heartworm and other medication from them, and so on to get the 'free' spay. They could give the sheet of added costs upfront as part of the agreement but choose not to do this. I knew from purchasing a prior pet at a pet store that the 'free' vet stuff was a misnomer. What I was not prepared for was the poor service, the dribbling out of costs and added information, and the generally bad experience. And don't even get me started on the boarding - which I had arranged post spaying as we were going out of town. The basic attitude was, 'well, she will be in post-op where we'll generally watch her but will not take responsibility for what she does to her stitches and then she goes to the regular boarding where they will only be looking at her once a day. I've boarded other pets post spay at the vet that performed the surgery and never have I had this type of issue or attitude. We will not be coming back!!

Glen Ellyn Animal Hospital is wonderful. My husband, son, daughter in-law, mother bring and brought our animals to them. The staff sometimes is a little rude, but they have a lot to handle. For the most part, they all have hearts. The doctors are the best around. Very concerned, caring and loving. My best goes out to Dr. Bushias (?), Dr. Manna and Dr. Horton. Thank you so much for everything you did for our critters, past and present.

My dog Jody is a weim/beagle mix we adopted her from Glen Ellyn Animal Hospital 5 years ago and she is a wonderful dog and addition to our family. Only problem is that she has horrible allergies. GEAH has been great helping her. They did a blood allergy test and found out she is allergic to beef, chicken and oak trees. Its been about 6 months since we changed her food and she is doing great. Jody has been alittle lonely since we had to put our 15 year old terrier mix to sleep a few months ago. The staff at GEAH was very supportive and sent my family a card with thoughful messages that touched our hearts. The staff is a little busy and they do rush but I have never felt anything but kindness towards my pets. I would and do recommend this hospital to my friends, neighbor and relatives. Without them I never would have found my Jody.
