I have been taking my many pets to Dr. Sassman since the day she opened her clinic and I could not be happier with the care she gives. Since I am a big believer in the philosophy that prevention is best, we do not have to go very often for the bad stuff. However on the seldom occasion that something unfortunate does happen, her diagnosis is correct and she gives great advice. She is also very patient and kind when I ask questions and has given me good pet advice after hours as well. I recommend Dr. Sassman and her qualified staff with confidence.

Let me say, The 1st 2 times I went there she was very nice. However today I made the painful decision that my large dog needed to be put to sleep, due to the fact that I cant break him from trying and sometimes succeding attacking and biting small children. I have a three year old living with me, that he snarls,growls, lunges and bites him just because he has walked into a room. she refused to put him to sleep because he acted fine. Well, great.Do I have to wait for him to attack, maim, or possibly kill a child. I do not find this unacceptable in any way. He is very good with adults, not children. I have another grandchild, also 3 that stays with me, who is autistic and my dog has also bitten that child. I dont feel its right to pass the problem on to new owners, and am very upset that i have to wait until he maims or kills a child to get this taken care of. She also treated me like i was a bad owner who doesnt take care of her pets.Not true, I worked for a group of veteranians for 10 years and a client was never treated like that. Then she wanted to know where I got the money for the euthanasia, like I was some degenerate off the street. I am sick with a disease I probably wont beat, and I am in the middle of a divorce after 20 yrs of marraige to a man who makes a 6 figure income, but will not help in any way, even though my dogs he left are avid chipped in his name. I feel she was very rude, uncaring, and rushed us out. I and my family and friends will never go back. Pekin Animal Hospital is a great place with respectable, caring vets and staff. We have never ,ever treated a client like that
