I always seemed to spend more than I budgeted. I was also not happy that Vectra was the only flea/tick preventative, which my dog had an immediate reaction to it (although not as severe as the chemical burns that many dogs and cats have been subjected to) after never having had a problem with Frontline...which is also less expensive....and available now at Costco. Additionally, Sentinel is now the only heartworm preventative (more expensive than Heartguard, with no additional benefit for my indoor dog...and has to be shoved down her throat, vs. eagerly-earned as a treat). While our previous vet was more than happy to sell single doses of preventatives (great for those of us on tight budgets) - Whitney will not do the same - and I believe Vectra is now only available in 6-dose boxes at over $100 each for bigger dogs - yikes! While the care we received was just as good as what our previous vet (a cross-town drive) offered, the additional costs and limited & unsatisfactory choices in preventatives have lost Whitney my business.

Each time I have had to take our older dogs there the Doctors have been very helpful. We relocated to Peoria and our dogs had to adjust to city life including Vets that came to our home. Just today as our Great Dane had an injury that they took her right in. Whitney Veterinary Hospital has caring and a very professional staff.
