Once you get past the front desk there great! We've been taking our chinchillas (there like squirrels with rabbit fur/ears) here (To Dr. Wilder) for years now. When one of the chinchillas was having problems giving birth, we called Hillcrest, and one of their vets instructed us on how to get the babies out. On our own, and they didn't even charge anything for the advice! Later on another chinchilla was having major problems giving birth, and 20 minutes later Dr. Wilder was doing an emergency c-section on her. Despite it having apparently been her first time doing that kind of surgery on such a small animal, she did a great job and fluffy is still with us many years later! Now what prompted me to write the review is that we recently got a puppy who we took to Hillcrest for her first ever vet exam. Again we saw Dr. Wilder, who remembered us, as well as our chinchillas, and treated out puppy (who has yet to be named) with the same level of care as she did our chinchillas. And when it comes to cost, although the c-section was a couple hundred dollars, that's extremely cheap for that kind of surgery, especially given everything they had to do to pull it off so perfectly on an exotic pet. And when it came to our puppies first check up, the total bill was only a little over 50 dollars, which included the 25 dollar registration fee with the county, as well as the cost of her rabies vaccine and ear drops for a small ear infection. Although I haven't ever met the other doctors at Hillcrest, and although the front desk staff is impersonal, and the waiting room can get a little crowded, I can say that the wait time is usually only a few minutes, and that Wilder is great with the pets and really cares a lot about them. And also, you simply can't beat Hillcrest's prices or convenience of accepting walk-ins!
