My cat had a cancerous growth above her nose. She was 18 years old. Dr. Roberts made her comfortable by giving her cortisone and antibiotics. Her condition worsened. Then the cancerous growth burst and I took her back to Dr. Roberts who had been very kind and understanding. Something strange happened. I was not allowed to see Dr. Roberts but saw his associate - an older lady whose name I would not try to remember. My cat was given more antibiotics. Poor cat's nose was wounded in the process and she stopped eating and drinking. By this time she was skin and bone and I thought it was time to put her out of her misery. So she went back to McCormick Animal Hospital and I asked for Dr. Roberts. Again, I was not allowed to see him but saw the older lady vet instead. She said my poor cat was not quite ready to go and gave her some fluid. At this point, I could not understand why the vet would not put an animal down when she was in such a pitiful condition. So my cat was sent home to die. It took several more days, those days were probably the worst days of my life to watch a beloved cat suffering pointlessly. I will not have another pet again because of this heart wrenching experience. My point here is the McCormick Animal Hospital takes good care of well pets, but I would not recommend anyone taking a sick animal there. Dr.Roberts is wonderful, but don't let the lady vet treat your pet.
My dog Chubby had a good size growth on the side of his hind leg. It grew over the past few years and it really started to wear at him. He finally started to draw blood as he was biting at the growth. As with any time I have taken an animal in for surgery, I was worried for my four legged friend. Dr Roberts did such a great job with Chubby and his surgery. I was expecting complications, and there were none. Only good news that the growth was not attached to muscle. I never expected it to heal so well. I have seen other dogs with permanent scars after similar surgery. There are no scars and 100% healed. Thank You Dr Roberts and the friendly staff at McCormick Hospital. You are appreciated and thought of more than you know.
