Top notch technology and quick results; however VERY pricey. $100 new patient visit plus $50 just to bring in the animal. Expect at least $200 your first visit without anything really being done. I spent over $400 in vaccines for a new cat and that didn't even include rabies and feline distemper. I recommend taking your animal to the APL or Chatham vet for vaccines, checkups, blood work, spay/neuter; then if you have a complicated or serious/urgent issue go to Capitol Illini. This last year, my cats had a UTI and bacterial infection and after diagnostics and medications I spent well over $3,000.
All Capitol Illini personnel, from the receptionists, vet techs to the doctors, make visiting them a great experience. They are caring, knowledgeable people who take time to make sure my "kids" feel welcome, are in good health, & that I am provided w/all necessary information &/or instructions for a long life in my home! I've taken my pets to Capitol Illini for more than 30 years & have always felt they are in very capable hands!
I have no trouble getting an appointment, often the same day I call. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The vet was very thorough in her exam of my dog and we found a problem we didn't know she had. Prices are a little high but the care is great.
Capitol Illini Vet is the best. I am always impressed by their efficient and excellent service on every visit from the front desk to the doctors. Dr. Holbrook saved my 16 yr old cat's life. The expertise and skill combined with an extra large dose of kindness and compassion are truly amazing! Bless you all!
I've been taking my pets to Capitol Illini for many years. I first met Dr. Armour a few years ago when I had to have my dog euthanized. She was very professional, but compassionate, too, during that difficult time. Since then, I have a new beagle, Chloe, who has been seeing Dr. Armour for 3 years. Chloe receives excellent care from Dr. Armour and the entire staff at Capitol Illini. Chloe and I wouldn't consider going anywhere except Capitol Illini.
