I have been going to this clinic for 5 years, always paid my bills and have insurance. Last Friday I brought my dog in because is was acting lethargic and not eating. When I arrived to the West Suburban Clinic my dog was seen by a very nice vet. She could not find anything wrong with him but suggested a blood workup. I agreed. She took the blood and advised that one of the doctors will call me on Saturday because she is not in at that time. (with results) When I walked out to pay my bill 57.25 for exam and 155.50 for blood work. I was asked by one of the receptionists to pay my bill in full. I told her that I did not have enough money but would come back next week with full amount when I received my Social Security check. She replied new policy, no payment no blood work will be sent in. I stood there for a moment and one of the no expression robots said why are you waiting and I replied let me please see the vet. The vet came out, commented that she was just working there and not the manager and I would have to call the manager the next day (she was not in) and ask her to please send my dog's blood work out . I was very upset because I was being humiliated in the waiting room where there were other clients. I replied politely, don't send the blood work. I cannot handle begging an office manager for services for my dog. The vet then replied we will send it in. By that time I was completely a nervous wreck. I was called on Saturday by one of the robots, not a doctor, that blood was normal and she cut me off short. I tried to tell her that my dog had vomited and had diarrhreah when we got home. Bang went her phone with no reply. I wrote one of the owners of this clinic explaining what had happened and never even received a reply I don't know how people can react in this manner especially with the war and the economy. The robots must have thought this lady is 70 years old and might die before she pays her bill.
This office was recommended to me by a friend just before we adopted our Min Pin. They have been nothing but fabulous from day one. Whether it was for standard checkups and shots, nail trims, or the pup's broken leg - they've always been kind, compassionate, patient, and so reasonably priced for the services offered. My dog loves Dr Muehrke, but is always in good hands with any of the docs. Highly recommended!
