Absolutely wonderful experience. My german shorthaired pointer (Jake) and I went to Parkside Animal Hospital for the first time today. Jake is 5 years old and he had so much anxiety around going to our old vet that it was difficult to even get him through the door. Dr. Johnson and the staff did an excellent job with Jake and we had our best visit to the vet since he was a puppy! Jake was a little nervous at first, but Dr. Johnson did an amazing job comforting and reassuring him. By the time we left Jake and Dr. Johnson were buddies!

Parkside has our complete confidence and loyalty! We have 4 cats who are a part of our family, and after experiencing several other Indy vets before, we will never take our boys anywhere else but here. Dr. Craig Johnson and the entire staff here are friendly, knowledgeable, trustworthy and simply amazing at their jobs! They treat us with the utmost respect and make it a priority for their patients to feel comfortable. We have had several life or death situations with 2 of our male cats, and during those difficult times, Dr. Johnson and the techs here have treated our cats like their own, correctly diagnosed them, provided answers, and came up with lifesaving solutions to save our cats! We always leave their office with an action plan in place and all of our questions answered, plus they have been extremely fair and reasonably priced. We can’t thank them enough for everything they have done and highly recommend them to family and friends every chance we get!

The best vets in Indy!!! Dr. Johnson and Dr. Havens and their entire staff do such an amazing job. Their level of care and compassion simply cannot be found elsewhere. I don't feel like a customer of Parkside...I feel like family. The entire staff of Parkside recognizes the fact that your pet is a family member and they treat them as such. If you're looking for a vet that cares about your pet as much as you do and for a staff that is extremely friendly and welcoming, you need to choose Parkside! They've saved the lives of a few of my pets over the years and I would never think of going anywhere else for my pet care. Keep up the great work!

I've been taking my shelties to Parkside for about nine years now. During that time I've lost an old dog to a brain tumor, brought home two new puppies, and been a foster parent for rescue. Dr Johnson and his staff have seen us through all the ups and downs with professionalism, honesty, and a sense of humor. I make the drive from the NW side of Indy because I know they are knowledgable and that my dogs will have excellent care. My dogs are performance dogs and I wouldn't trust them to just anyone. Having fostered for rescue, I've seen a LOT of spays and surgeries done at other clinics, and Dr J has some of the prettiest surgical technique I've seen. Your dog will thank you, believe me. When my sheltie girl was spayed, the biggest challenge was keeping her quiet during the recovery period. She had a tiny incision, no swelling, and hardly noticed it was there. (In comparison, I have a rescue who was spayed at a different clinic, had a huge incision, and was miserable for days.) Parkside is also experienced with things like submitting x-rays to OFA -- if this is something that you participate in, you can be confident that they know how to position the dogs and prepare the views. Parkside also has professional groomers on staff who understand breed cuts. Even my rescue sheltie, who doesn't have a great coat, comes home looking pretty. I can drop off my shelties for grooming without ever worrying that they'll come home with their "pants" cut off or something like that. While I don't choose my vet based on cost, prices at Parkside are very reasonable. Before switching to Parkside I was a client at a trendy Broad Ripple animal clinic, and I've probably saved about 30% on my vet bills. Again, this is not my priority, but if I can get the same or better care without paying the Broad Ripple price, I'm not going to complain. Great clinic, great staff!
