I recently brought my large breed dog to Mishawaka Animal Care Center for two ailments. One being a hot spot and the other being a large mass (approximately the size of a half a tennis ball) on his leg near the lower joint by his paw. After merely feeling the mass with his hand, the diagnosis given by Dr. Anderson was that the mass was fluid in the joint and would go down on its own. There were no mention that we should do x-rays. When asked if there were any medications that could be given to the dog, the response was no. After 3 weeks, the mass did not go down, it gradually grew bigger. I then got a second opinion from another local vet. The first thing the vet stated was the x-rays needed to be completed ASAP. Which they were. When the results came back, the mass was diagnosed as a tumor called osteosarcoma. Clearly a grave misdiagnosis by Dr. Anderson. Had a second opinion never been sought out, it would have gone undetected. If you would like to have a proper diagnosis on your pet, I do not recommend Mishawaka Animal Care Center. Although, good with the pet, who knows how many other animals (truly family memebers) have been misdiagnosed and ailments never treated.

Dr. Anderson and his staff have a true passion for their work. They are extremely personable, friendly and speak to you in plain english in order to understand your animal. They may not have the fanciest office in town, but it is well-kept and they offer the most affordable prices in the Mishawaka area. We've been going to see them with our pets for over 10 years! Keep up the great work MACC!
