Dr. Smith has been wonderful for us and our pets. She helped us manage Sasha's heart disease, and eventually walked us through a tough time as we had to have her euthanized. She was caring and went out of her way to take care of Sasha and helpvus through it. Since then, we have gotten a new puppy and will only take him to see Dr. Smith. Also, in regard to prescription pricing, they utilize an online service that you can get medicine for a better price than in-office.
Our dog had just recently passed and we took him to Arbor Creek animal hospital and they couldn't have been any more sympathetic for our loss. They sent us a beautiful card which was signed by all of the staff and his paw print! We really appreciated that-Thank you!
I have been seeing Dr. Tarrant for years. He has always provided the best care to my animals. He is so knowledgeable and really takes the extra time to make sure you understand everything that is going on with your pets. I love that he always looks outside the box and will find any way he can to help you. I really feel like part of the family when I'm there. I have always been greeted with kindness by all the staff. Recently I lost one of my dogs and I'm so glad to have had Dr. Tarrant taking care of him. He was sick for quite sometime and thanks to the Dr. T, I was able to make him comfortable to enjoy his last days with us as a family. My pets mean the world to me and when a Dr. is willing to go above and beyond, contacting you at night to check up on my dog, making home visits and willing to do what ever it takes to help you that really means the world. Dr. Tarrant and his wife, Natasha made me feel love and support during this awful time. Loosing a pet is like loosing one of your children, they are your family members. I couldn't ask for a better vet and experience than I've had at Arbor Creek! I will continue to recommend Arbor Creek to all my friends and family.
Dr. Tarrant took good care of my dog until last month, which unfortunately led to my dog's death. Literally. My dog had started having flatulence and was making snoring/grunting sounds when sleeping. She was absolutely fine, otherwise. I took her in to ask him several questions, and to purchase food. He offered a powder supplement made by Karbo Essentials to be used as a probiotic to try to lessen the flatulence. I administered it that night. The next morning, she had diarrhea. I called to inquire about a possible allergy. He said there wasn't anything in it that would cause an allergic reaction, yet it gave my dog immediate diarrhea. Therefore, I continued to give it to her, and 3 days later, she vomited and diarrhea'd with blood. I called him and he recommended I take her to the pet hospital so they could treat and monitor that night. She was treated aggressively, and 1 1/2 days later I was able to pick her up, but she seemed very lethargic. She couldn't stand up on her own the entire night. The next morning I took her back to the ER. They x-rayed and found fluid around her lungs. I took her home to let her rest in peace, knowing she was dying. ***I called Dr. Tarrant's office number, and it said to call (785) --- ---- for an emergency. I called him and left an urgent message. NO RETURN CALL. That night, I took her back to the hospital to have her euthanized. I called his office Monday at noon to ask why my call wasn't returned. He said he never received the message, and that his emergencies were referred to the hospital anyway. NO! His voice mail said emergencies were referred to the (785) number which was his wife's cell number. During this entire banter, he never even brought up that he knew my dog had DIED. I was APPALLED. I finally said to him, "You're aware she died, right?" He replied, "Yes, I was." THAT WAS ALL HE SAID. SHAME ON YOU, DR. TARRANT for your lack of any compassion whatsoever. I drove far and wide to get to your office for 5 years, and you didn't return an emergency call in my darkest hour of need, nor did you offer an acknowledgment of her death UNTIL I finally brought it up. I do NOT recommend this Dr.!
Horrible experience. Dr. Tarrant failed to document that my dog was on steroids, even though I had filled the prescription with his office, and he prescribed her an NSAID on top of it; they cannot be combined. And he never apologized. On top of that, he recommended a surgery that my dog isn't even a candidate for according to K-State, Blue Pearl and other surgeons. Moreover, since I began giving her Adequan shots through another vet's office and Dasuquin daily, she is almost back to her old self. Therefore, it is difficult to believe that she ever needed surgery. In addition, this office overcharges on everything. Prescriptions are about 50% less everywhere else, and the Si Miao San she take for allergies was more than $20 cheaper at another vet's office. I ended up filing a report with the licensing board, because he could have killed my dog. Not impressed, and I would never recommend him to anyone.
