My family has been taking our pets to Winchester Pet Care for thirty years from basic physicals and dental cleanings to cancer treatment and minor surgeries. As a child, Dr. Rucker even helped us cure an abscessed tooth for my pet bunny rabbit. As an adult, my husband and I have taken our dogs there and always receive excellent service and our dogs receive top notch care. I'd like to take a moment to also comment on their boarding. We have a special needs German Shepherd and do not trust taking him anywhere else. Each time we go to Winchester he is less and less apprehensive about being left. The last few times we brought him home we noticed marked improvement in character and disposition around others. When I complimented them on the changes we had seen they said they had tried to spend extra time with him every day. It means so much to us that they cared about our pet so much while we were away. If you are looking for a new veterinarian or need a place to kennel the pets while away, I highly recommend Winchester. You will not be disappointed.

I've been taking our beagles here for about 8 years and our beagles are pretty much the center of our world, so it's always been very important for them to have quality care. The staff is top notch and even though Dr. Rucker appeared a bit standoffish to me at first, he warmed up quickly, especially when one of our beagles needed special care. Last year, Dr. Rucker went out of his way to check up on our oldest, who had major surgery several times. He called us often and was very concerned about her well being (and still is). We moved last year and took our beagles to another closer well respected vet and were sorry we did - the bill was insane. Dr. Rucker is a straight shooter, who is reasonably priced (if not less expensive), experienced, professional and kind. We will drive the extra miles.

We were relocating to Hawaii, and wanted to take our dog with us. Hawaii's restrictions are very tedious, and Dr. Rucker was great to work with. We went with all of the information, plus some, and our dog was released directly from the airport to us. While our relocation ended up being shorter than planned, we were confident in our dog's health for the time we lived there, and was more than happy to return to Dr. Rucker @ Winchester Pet Care!
