Great people, great attention to my sick boys, and promptly called after my dog's surgery to let me know the details.
Yesterday my one and a half year old puppy suddenly started convulsing and shaking. I rushed him to Arbor Creek Veterinary Hospital and I will tell you right now that it was the biggest mistake of my life. Not only did they never figure out what had happened and what was wrong, they never called to tell us how his blood work looked or when he had a 104 degree fever or when they were about to close without any news at all. They charged us $400 for blood work and herbal medication. Since we had no answers and nothing changed in the night we decided not to go back to that quack, so we called Dr. Schroeder at College Boulevard Animal Hospital and made an appointment for as soon as they had an opening. An hour later we were sitting in a clean, spacious, beautifully designed exam room. We were scared of what we would hear, both diagnosis and price of the treatment. After a very informative consultation we were biting our nails when we got the bill. LESS THAN $80 and we had an answer to what caused his sudden neurological problem (It turned out to be a seizure, the other vet had the balls to say that I must have hit him in the head so hard it caused his brain to swell!!! NIGHTMARE VET!!!!), Meds, AND PEACE OF MIND. I can't thank Dr. Schroeder and his team enough for making this horrible nightmare start to fade. My dog is resting easy now, he is just woozy from his meds. I can't tell you what it's like to have a horrible vet tell you absolutely nothing, accuse you of animal abuse, then steal your hard earned money like Dr. Tarrant did to us. College Boulevard Animal Hospital is now our permanent veterinarian's office! We love the CBAH and so does our puppy! THANK YOU COLLEGE BOULEVARD ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!! YOU SAVED HIS LIFE! I will say that I don't agree at all with his endorsement of IAMS, Eukenuba, Science diet, and Royal. They are GMO corn and animal bi-product bits and you should be feeding your dog Taste of Wild. We stopped feeding him ToW, BIG MISTAKE, but now with the information Dr. Schroeder gave us we know that he needs a more balanced diet so we switched him back! In short even if the answer is not exactly what you want to hear, it is really good to get an overview of what can be done to make things right on your own terms, and so you can make your own educated choice. PS- They don't sell you into stuff, and try their best to give you as many options of treatment as possible. You can trust them. I'm utterly blown away by the compassion of this Vet's Office... They will save you time, money, stress, and heartbreak. Something you don't want or have time to think about when your animal is dying in your arms.
I haven't been taking my dog to this vet for long, but I have had nothing but good experiences when I go in there. The entire staff is so friendly and loving towards all the dogs and they always very willing to answer any questions I may have. I think I have found my regular vet.
We have taken our cats to Dr. Schroeder since we moved to Kansas because the Veterinary Specialty Emergency Center on 110th recommended him. He is great with our animals, a good communicator with my wife and I, has been spot on with his diagnoses thus far. Their prices are reasonable and they have also given us follow up visits at no charge. Thanks Guys! Grant and Stacey, O.P.
Dr. Schroeder is an Excellent Vet and a better person. I have been taking my Lab to doctor Schroeder since I moved here from Texas. In July my dog Kane was diagnosed with bone cancer and giving 6 months. A few weeks after the passing of my best friend I received a letter from Kansas State stating unbeknownst to me that a generous monetary contribution had been made from College Boulevard Animal Hospital in honor of my special friend Kane. That contribution will make a difference in the lives of countless other animals. I can’t thank Dr. Schroeder enough for his support and the kind of person he is. DH
