I am in the military and generally use the on post vet, but they do not offer after hours care. Someone was pulling in to the drive way and my dog put his paws on the side of the car to greet them before the car came to a stop and the tired rolled over his back feet. I called Heartland (after hours) and they met me at the door. The took him in, reassured me (and I was pretty distraught, so that was no easy matter for them). They took their time to carefully tend to him. He has since healed with no limp, no scars, and no lasting issues. They explained his injuries to me in a way I could understand well. The fur on his two back paws were 'gloved', the fur peeled back on them. The aftercare was stellar and he is totally healed. This is one fabulous vet who I have recommended to many. I hear they are a little more expensive than other vets, but my thought is that I would want the best care for myself no matter the cost, so shouldn't I want the same care for my pet? I'm sure if he could talk he would agree.
We called ahead and received a price for a "puppy package" of $65 for 1st visit, $65 for 2nd visit, and then 3rd and 4th visits free. My wife took new puppy there and was presented a bill for $93 for 1 visit. When I called to complain I was told by Susan that if I came in with an attitude she would call the police. We were very mistreated by this staff and attempted to resolve the matter with Margaret who supposed to be over three of these hospitals. She told me we weren't wanted as a client. Buyer beware if you go here. Their $130 "puppy package" is really more like $250, they automatically tack on ala carte items to the "package" and don't expect them to honor their own documentation on what it includes. The bottom line is they don't care. We ended up overpaying for 1 visit and went somewhere else. We only wanted them to honor their qouted price. They refused.
WHAT A CARING STAFF. My toy poodle started having blood from the rear end on a Friday late afternoon. She was becoming more depressed and sick as the day went on. When I called, right before they closed, they told me to bring her right in. The nurse greeted me in the parking lot and escorted me right in. After Dr. Will preformed the exam, the nurses took her to do test and Dr. Will stayed with me and calmed me down and reassured me which meant a lot. Even though she had to stay overnight, a nurse called me later that evening and Dr. Will called first thing the next morning. After a few days of medication, she was back to normal. It meant a lot to know that not only did they care for my poodle, but really took care of me as well. Thanks.
