Drs. Middendorf and LaRoy and the entire staff are competent and compassionate. We've taken our pets to them for many years, and I highly recommend them. They're the best.

I met Dr. Middendorf when we both volunteered for the Humane Society many, many years ago and if there is a vet who cares about animals, it is him. I've taken my animals there ever since. Dr. Middendorf is not only a good vet, he hires friendly, competent, courteous staff. Dr LeRoy is right up there and I have had great experiences with him as well. His staff have gone out of there way on more than one occasion in caring for my geriatric Husky. One time going as far as calling my house out of the blue to donate some medicine my dog was on because one of the staff had some extra (left over from when their dog passed away). Talk about customer service....Don't hesitate to take your family member to this group!

We use Middendorf for general purposes - vaccinations and boarding. We are new to the area and found them to be very professional. This week we had to take our dog in for emergency surgery and they were amazing! While waiting I met both of the doctors, staff came and checked in with me multiple times while surgery was taking place to let me know how things were going. By far the best customer service I have seen in a long long time. Dr. Leroy and his staff are wonderful and we will be coming back year after year.

Had scheduled surgery to repair my dog's torn CCL. My initial estimate had been about $1,850. I made it clear that I wanted a comprehensive estimate that included all costs, from the procedure, to medication, surgery, X-rays, sedatives, etc. The office staff made it clear that the estimate was all inclusive; I had multiple conversations with them about this estimate. I didn't ask for anything in writing because I figured our understanding was clear enough. The day I arrived with my dog for surgery it magically increased to $2,800! Now, an estimate can be off by $100 to $200 for a procedure like that. You have to be reasonable and grant people some leeway. But $1,000 difference? Only two explanations are possible: either the office staff is grossly inept, or they lowball people to get them in the door and use the inertia of the situation to convince people to just go ahead and get the surgery done. Anyone whose dog has gone through this knows how agonizing the decision can be given the expense. Dr. Middendorf did not even personally come out to talk to me about the situation. He handed his assistant $20 for gas money (I had driven about 80 miles from my home because at the time I thought he was the most reasonably priced alternative) and told her to apologize to me. But even that didn't compensate me for the missed day at work; nor did I get any type of satisfactory explanation other than "Your estimate was done incorrectly." An honorable businessman would have stuck by the estimate, but he wasn't prepared to do that, obviously. I was livid. This was two months ago, and I'm still getting annoying newsletters and emails through their automated e-vet software. I have already unsubscribed multiple times, yet I continue to get the emails. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere. I would not trust these people with my dog's well-being.

Our family has always had lots of animals (currently 4 dogs, 1 cat and 1 bird) and I have used Middendorf Animal Hospital for all for about 10 years. I have NEVER had a bad experience with any of the vets there, and they always make us feel like they know us and our pets personally. We have gone through routine check ups, sickness, and even euthanasia, and they have been the best. I won't use anyone else.
