According to Dr. McCord and I quote, "If you bring your bird to this clinic, IT"S GONNA BLEED!" "WE QUICK THE NAILS HERE SO YOU GET YOUR MONIES WORTH, OTHERWISE, WHY BOTHER!" I complained, "But I don't want my bird to bleed"! Again he yelled, "THEY"RE GONNA BLEED HERE OR YOU CAN TAKE THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE!" No apologies or making my parakeets toe nails bleed, obviously, no sympathy and DEFINATELY NO HEART OR SOUL! They lost the business of NINE PETS HERE! I did find another Vet office, AFFORD A VET on Richmond Road.
I have used this clinic since I moved to Lexington 11 years ago. Dr. Vice is knowledgeable, personable, friendly, and extremely informative. I'm extremely over-protective of my cats, and Dr. Vice always takes the time to go over every detail of my cats' health and wellness experiences. He is careful about suggesting procedures and tests -- and he has even suggested that there are tests that he wouldn't perform because they wouldn't be useful! I would recommend this clinic to anyone.
We have taken our animals here for years. They have been with us through the good times and the bad. Drs. Nolty, McCord, and Vice have always been the epitome of compassionate and been super understanding when we've had questions and concerns. I would and have recommended this clinic to anyone and everyone! You cannot ask for better folks to take care of your animals.
With our first "fur baby", Jasper, we started at Animal Care Clinic. They were nice, but their prices were outrageous, so we switched to Gainesway based on a friends recommendation. The clinic is nice, the staff are absolutely fantastic, their prices are lower than most in town, and they took great care of Jasper. Earlier this year, Jasper suddenly passed away (Milo's Kitchen treats), and we were heartbroken. The Gainesway staff were so kind and compassionate. Jasper didn't die in their care, but they still sent a condolences letter. We've since adopted two more bundles of love, Jackson and Allie, and we will never take them anywhere else. We LOVE Gainesway!
My cat, Brooks, developed a nasty abscess on his face that was way beyond warm compresses and other home remedies. I was hesitant to visit a vet b/c of the horror stories of associated bills. I finally called Gainesway Animal Clinic, since they were closest, and prepared to blow my paycheck. Dr. Gilpin saw Brooks. He drained the abscess, excised debrided tissue, stitched him up, (under general anesthesia) gave him an injection of antibiotics, a prescription to antibiotics, and the promise to remove the stitches in 10-12 days. Final bill: $165. Brooks is doing great now. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Gilpin and the associates at Gainesway. I'm so glad that I've found an excellent vet!!!
