I am so incensed at this clinic right now. My sister and her family lost their precious family member this weekend in the so called "care of" this clinic. Jack went in very weak and with a rapid heart-beat. The doctor did some tests, when asked about the specifics my sister was told they would give the information to their primary veterinarian on Monday. He was going to stay for fluids. About 8 PM, one of the doctors called to report things were going well, better at least, temperature was down, etc. Around midnight the vet called again to say Jack was gone. He did not give a reason as to what had happened. The vet did not offer a necropsy, instead told them that they would put him in the freezer so they could decide about cremation. Seriously, the lack of compassion. Then, today a day afterwards, they call to demand payment. Jack was 11 years old, it might have been his time. But the lack of empathy and concern for their precious family member is unforgiveable. This is their first family pet, Jack has been around for 11 years with three children. To treat customers in this fashion is unthinkable. I work at a veterinarian clinic in another state and I can tell you the information we received about this clinic is appalling.
Dr. Joseph Bruner was wonderful to me and my cat Boo who unfortunately was stricken with wet FIP and had to be put down. I've never had a veterinarian at a busy hospital sit down with me and go line by line to review my pet's blood test results with me. He helped me understand everything and although prices were a little steep, that is ALWAYS the case for pet care at 24hr hospitals. He was also able to narrow down Boo's condition and run only one abdominal ultrasound instead of a whole series of tests which would have cost more $$$. I also like how he constantly communicated with Boo's primary vet on his condition and test results. So thank you to GCV and Dr. Bruner.
Stay clear of this place.....although Joe Bruner is nice to your face he does not have you or your pets best interest at heart. He is only after your money. His follow-up is horrible and he will NOT return your calls. My vet says that he seldom if ever gets records from the specialty clinic and refuses to use them any longer. I paid for a service and only received a portion of what I paid for. My vet says he has heard these statements time and time again with these people. In fact he says that there have been multiple complaints with the Vet Board involving Joe Bruner. When my cat did not respond to treatment he was no where to be found.....I am considering legal action. Look elsewhere for care; MedVet, Cheryl Harris, CARE center etc.
The emergency clinic and specialty clinic are separate, so that is important to keep in mind when reading other reviews. After one year of trying to determine what was ailing my dog, my primary vet referred me to Dr. Stephanie Bruner, who correctly diagnosed her and also solved my dog's skin problems in just one month (severe allergies!). Although I live 40 minutes away, my primary vet recommended them because their prices are affordable and she has heard that both of the Bruners are very personable and knowledgeable. I had this same experience. Dr. Stephanie Bruner is very kind and cares a lot about her work. She is only there are Tuesdays and Thursdays, and so I only call with questions on the days she is in the clinic. I have received prompt return calls. Also, there are two Dr. Bruners (Dr. Stephanie Bruner specializes in dermatology and her husband Dr. Joseph Bruner specializes in internal medicine). I would recommend the speciality clinic (especially the Bruners) to anyone. I took my dog to the emergency clinic this past weekend for blood in her urine. Although we had a long wait time, it is an emergency clinic and they had two critical cases comes in while we were there (if my dog was in critical condition I would want her to be prioritized, too). I have been to another emergency clinic and had the same wait time.... it's the nature of emergency care. Unlike another reviewer, the vet I saw recommended a urinalysis, x-ray to check for kidney stones, and blood work to check for something my dog's breed has a disposition to that can cause urinary tract infections. We were then able to choose which option(s) we wanted to go with and were required to sign a waiver if we chose not to follow all of the recommendations. I chose this emergency clinic because their prices for the initial check-up was the most competitive. Although the emergency vet was thorough, he wasn't the most personable, but I feel that my dog received excellent care.
