All the staff and vet are great here! The vet called me and spoke with me about the status of my cat and the care that he was getting. He had to stay and extra day cause he had an allergic reaction, and she wanted to keep an eye on him. He got supremely good care. I liked that they only deal with cats and therefore are experts on all breeds of cats.
My first time going in the past month. The good Doc is great. The staff...I just don't know. Nice enough, but not very knowledgeable. Have received conflicting information when I've called to check on things with questions, which is irritating. I'm conflicted between taking my cat back because I like the doctor, but I feel like the staff doesn't have the knowledge that it should.
I miss Dr. Coker and the Cat Doctor Staff!!! I recently moved to West Monroe, LA and have recently had the need to take my youngest, Lenny (who I adopted from the Cat Doctor), to the vet...I am so nervous knowing how well Dr. Coker and staff took care of Lenny.
I've always had cats, and I've always had a hard time finding a vet that was up to snuff. I tried the Cat Doctor on a whim when I moved a few blocks away, and I've been VERY pleased. The doctor is incredibly knowledgeable and certainly knows how to handle a cat. Mine is 25 pounds of clawed vet-hating fury, but she had no problems handling him. When i initially took him in, he hadn't been eating or using the bathroom. She discovered through an ultrasound (or Cat-Scan?) that he had eaten a big piece of string and it had formed a knot, blocking his intestines. Rather than selling me something or pushing an expensive procedure, she recommended trying several home-remedies for allowing it to pass first - which worked. This impressed me, considering I've had vets try to push costly procedures that I wasn't sure were needed in the past. The place is very clean, and very cat-friendly. There are cats roaming around happily playing, and the no-dogs-allowed means they aren't freaked out when they have to stay overnight. I've recently moved to DC, and I've had real issues finding a vet that even remotely compares.
Few words describe Dr. Coker and her staff. I get very nervous about the health of my cats and Dr. Coker is very knowledgeable and informative. I had to visit the Cat Doctor one day with my very sick cat. She gave me my options and, unfortunately, I had to have her put down. The staff was compassionate and understanding. To me, there is only one vet in town for cat-owners.
