I have taken one of my cats here a couple of times because it was very conveniently located in my neighborhood. Beautiful new practice right on one of Boston's main shopping streets. But you get to pay a hefty fee for the privilege. I don't doubt that their care is good, but I always felt that you are given a list of treatment options, with the most extensive and expensive one the one that is recommended. During my last visit here they recommend a "senior cat exam" for my totally healthy 9 yo cat, so I said sure. Not exactly sure what they did other than take blood and urine, because the appointment didn't take any longer than a regular one. The only difference was that for the first time ever, my cat was totally freaked out afterward and actually pooped in her carrier, which she had never done before (or since). And when the bill came, it was $442 (or something like that--I almost fainted). That's a lot of money for a totally routine examination. So, it you go here, make sure you bring a lot of money. Or at least ask beforehand what the treatment will cost.

Fantastic veterinary clinic! Very efficient and our dog loved this place (as much as she's going to love any vet)!

We've been going here with our two rescued cats for nearly 2 years now and they've always been very good. Interested in the cats, good at handling them (one's extremely shy), and follow up appropriately. They do sometimes suggest non-essential courses of treatment that can be very expensive - if money wasn't an issue then I'd probably go with it but the prices for blood tests and other things can be off-putting, particularly if your pet isn't in any distress at the time. Maybe if we had insurance it would be OK but our cats had a basket of problems when we rescued them so I don't think they'd be covered. Still, they're very handy to get to and I trust them so I would recommend them to other folks nearby. If money is an issue though and you can travel further afield you might want to shop around for more complex procedures.
