We would highly recommend Lexington Veterinary Associates. We switched vets because our previous vet could not figure out why our dog was having a lameness problem with his front legs. After ruling out anything more serious, Dr. Read was able to point us in the right direction and help us think outside the box as to how our dog was possibly causing his lameness. Bingo, once we figured out what the dog was doing, we were able to fix the problem and our dog is now very healthy and happy! We are SOOoooo happy we switched and plan on staying with them! Also the staff is really warm, caring and knowledgable too.

I have been taking my Miniature Schnauzers to Dr. Read for almost 20 years and have always received great service from Dr. Read as well as the rest of the staff. The facility is clean and the staff always willing to help. Dr. Read has a genuine caring nature for pets, and understands their importance in family dynamics. He is compassionate, very knowledgeable, listens for details of symptoms, determines an accurate diagnosis, explains all treatments thoroughly and allows plenty of time during office visits for questions. My dogs on occasion have also been seen by Dr. Smith and she, too, has always provided excellent care. The attitude, dedication and commitment of the entire staff keeps me coming back and keeps my dogs happy and healthy!

I do not recommend Lexington Veterinary Associates. I have three cats and I've taken the youngest two here. The other, an 18 year old, never had gone. However, this older cat was very sick, needed to be put to be seen and probably put to sleep. Lexington Veterinary Associates wouldn't see her; they said that they didn't have room in their schedule because she was a new cat. (And yes, I explained the situation and they knew that my other cats were patients there.) They recommended another vet in town who readily booked her for an appointment. In addition, long before this, when one of the younger cats had eaten something bad for him, they recommended procedures that would have cost several thousands of dollars. A $6.99 tube of petromalt did the trick instead. I'll never go here again.

Lex. Vet Associates has cared for my cats and dog for 20 years. They are knowledgeable , compassionate, experienced, realistic about what can and can't be done with their advice all geared toward the ANIMAL's welfare and comfort. Very trustworthy to recommend what is best. They have helped us through the inevitable, sad loss of pets as well as treated illness successfully. They are excellent, and well informed doctors.
