i am really upset and disgusted at the way this hospital nickel and dimes you... bad experience in the last few years but today was the worst!!!!! i will NEVER bring any of my pets here!! and i will let everyone i know not to.

I called and asked how much it would cost to get my dog neutered. I explained that we needed it done right away, because we were moving into our new house that weekend and didn't want the dog marking up the place. They quoted me a price. One of the first questions she asked was, "Can you come in this aftenoon?" I though "Wow, that's quick!", but I wasn't able to come in then. We set up an appt a couple of days away. I hung up and spoke to my husband, and told him that they could even have taken the dog that afternoon if I'd been available! He asked me to call back right away and set it up, because he would be able take the dog in that afternoon. I called back and the new girl I spoke with this time informed me that, not only could they NOT neuter my dog that afternoon, but that they wouldn't even be able to do it at the appt I'd just set up!! She said that it was only an 'initial visit' that the first girl had set me up on. Even though I'd explained in detail that I needed my dog NEUTERED RIGHT AWAY, she had completely neglected to tell me that she was only booking me for an initial appt.! Furthermore, I found out that this initial appt was going to cost me $60- $90, on top of what the neutering cost would be. And to add insult to injury, when I asked this second girl exactly WHEN they would ACTUALLY be able to neuter my dog, she told me the first appt the vet had available wouldn't be for nearly three weeks!!!! Now, I dont know about the actual service at Pleasant Valley - if you can get any at all, after getting past their receptionists. But if these are the type of people they hire just to set up appts, I would be suspect. I immediately cancelled my appt and set one up with people who were very up front with me, at Methuen Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Mandeville is wonderful. My dog gets a little shy when we first get in the room, she takes her time making him comfortable and relaxed. I highly recommend them!
