By far the best small animal exotic vet I used in the Worcester area, and I must have tried them all - including Tufts University. Dr. O'Leary and her (former) associates have given great care towards my guinea pigs. They treated them knowing they were valuable and gave the best possible care. The office support staff is great. Dr. O'Leary is primarily concerned with the animal's health. She will give me the best/worst outcomes. Always, her concern first has been for the animals' welfare, not my feelings - just as it should be. At times, her practice has gotten so busy the place has suggested to clients they try to find another vet. No way, I'll wait. They have boarded my guinea pigs, treating them like their own - and giving them better care than I gave them, no doubt. When an animal passed, the office thoughtfully sent a floral/plant. It's a touching gesture but what meant the most to me was the concern and care my pet received there while he/she was alive. That's the most important thing.

called to have my kitten spayed...cat already had her physical and vaccines from a different vet...they insist that you pay them for a physical and blood work to make sure the cat has had vaccines before THEY will spay the cat...this, even though I have the paper work from the original vet...the only reason I called these clowns was because they are closer to my house than the guy in Leicester...guess I am going back to Leicester lol

We have been using this vet for years. I would never take my animals anywhere else. Our older ferret has lymphomia and has to come in for frequent visits. The entire practice knows him by name and comes over to greet him. I am also amazed at the independent research and personal investment this vet has put into our animals. She is really one of the best out there. To the woman who gave 1 star because she could not get an appointment... Seriously? Have you never called a doctor and had to wait because you were not already in their practice? I am sure they were not trying to be evil but really did not have any appointments. This says nothing of the quality of this vet.

Pet "treated" by this vet was a bearded dragon. Our experience was terrible. We were told that our pet was going to die without a battery of expensive tests and surgery. We were also told that the vet wouldn't perform any services for our supposedly dying animal unless she was paid in full up front; our attempt to set up an installment plan was categorically refused. We were accused by O'Leary of being neglectful. She literally reduced my wife to tears over the phone. After being told on Halloween 2007 that our pet would be dead by the following Thanksgiving, I'm happy to say that he is still alive as of January 2009 and quite healthy as he approaches his thirteenth birthday. A second opinion with another vet resulted in our being told that all he needed was a small dietary change; there was never anything significantly wrong with him. I wonder how many pets have been needlessly euthanized because of this veterinarian. In any case, I would STRONGLY advise owners to take their pets elsewhere for care.

I read bad reviews online before I went but I thought, "Hey, my experience will be different..." I was HORRIBLY wrong. I took a sick parakeet there and not only did the vet suggest I spend almost $500 for the workup, but she made me feel guilty that I couldn't afford to do that! I finally agreed to some shots and tests (which I later realized were redundant) and she underestimated the cost by almost half, so that when I went up to pay I was shocked by the price! Furthermore, and worst of all, my parakeet died the day after I took him to the vet. I truly believe she was dishonest about how sick he was and just wanted my money. I am terrified to go to another vet because of this experience, but PLEASE save your money and take your pet somewhere else. It can't be worse than this pseudo-veterinary clinic.
