New Year's Eve found us with our german shepherd throwing up Christmas ribbons that she apparently had at some point ingested, so we decided we should get her checked before going back on the long road trip home. Erdman was convenient, open the longest hours of any non-emergency vet, and also the least expensive. Besides waiting in the waiting room for about an hour since it's walk-in only, our experience was fantastic. I had read that the staff was the downside, but I thought they were all helpful and attentive. We saw Dr. Sharma who examined our dog, took x-rays, and took the time to walk us through them and the possible scenarios. Even though they were busy we were given the time we had waited for, which I think must be why you wait. They don't just rush you through. They clearly care about your animal more than the money. Our dog was left there for most of the day but since they didn't have overnight care Dr. Sharma gave us two different options- she could perform surgery and we could transfer her afterwards or we could take her to a 24/7 vet who could do both in one. We opted for the second just because it was easier and she agreed that that was a good option. While I feel confident that she got good care at the following vet, it was more expensive and we got about 3 minutes total with the vet, with no explanation of her condition, what was required in the surgery, or what the high estimate of services included. Luckily we had already been walked through most of it at Erdman, so we had an understanding, but it made us realize how lucky we were to get Dr. Sharma at first who really gave us her time and energy. Overall I was highly impressed with Erdman Animal Hospital and would recommend them to anyone looking for an animal clinic. They are less expensive, but that doesn't mean that they do worse work. They seem like an old fashioned clinic that cares about the pets and understands not everyone can afford unnecessary tests. I'd trust them again with our pets anytime! I like the hospital as the vets appear to be knowledgable. However the staff, and not all of them leave little to be desired. I recently brought my cat who died in for cremation. The staff is young and unprofessional. There were three staff at the front. To of the staff thought something was funny as they kept staring at me to see what my reactions was going to be. If they were not laughing at me, then I could not tell it but it sure felt like it. The other staff conveyed sympathy with her eyes. I will continue to use the hospital, as the vets are knowledgable and experienced. However, they need a more a mature professional staff . From the person who answers the phone to the person who accepts your cash. I realize that everyone does not know how to handle loss, but working in a ANIMAL HOSPITAL, I think the workers should have a little empathy and knowledge in grief and loss. If that is the case, if you can't control your emotions, get a job at Walmart or in fast food, as you don't need a whole lot of emotion to work there.

I just love Erdman Animal Hospital. This place is the true definition of "don't judge a book by its cover" because from appearances it may not look like much. But Dr. Kiel is the most caring and compassionate vet I have ever met in my life. He truly cares about animals and his prices are way cheaper than other vets in the Baltimore Area. The other vets that work there are just as nice. My only recommendation is that an office manager would do wonders for this place.

I have taken my dog to this clinic for the last 5 years, they have treated me and my dog with nothing but the best treatment and is easy on my pocket book.

Ive taken all of my past & present pets to Erdman. Ive called other offices as convenience but the prices were more than I could pay. I have no problem driving clear across town because Erdman cares about your pet. They offer a great many services. I feel very comfortable leaving my pets there for grooming. Ive been a loyal customer for more than 16 yrs & there's no place I'd rather take my pets.
