Absolutely love Dr. Teed! I was so upset when my dog was diagnosed with Lyme disease and he gave me every bit of information and took wonderful care of her!
!!!!!!DO NOT USE THIS VETERINARY HOSPITAL!!!!!! Below is the letter that I sent to the hospital after my dogs stay. Negolas Ark is a scam and the scam is run directly from the doctor down. please don't take my word for it, go online and see the court cases where this hospital has been the plaintiff as well as the defendant. Either way it shows very bad business habits all under the dictatorship of of Dr. Dan Negola. Dan, As per our conversation today, My dog was treated by Negola's Ark on Monday, June 28th. He had a stomach virus, blood tests showed he was healthy and he was throwing up and going to the bathroom, suggesting no blockages, I also had no reason to believe there were any blockages. The veterinarian they said he wanted to do x-rays, he did not explain the cost and suggested they were required not a unnecessary precaution. Also the dog was given an iv which was also extremely expensive. When I got my bill for 1,300 for a dog that had a stomach virus I was shocked. The charges seem excessive and the vet wanted more he explained he should keep the dog over night at an additional 700 expense. He played on my emotions and panic regarding my dog. His charges were excessive and services were unnecessary and should have been explained as electives as opposed to being necessary. He should have given me a choice and explained the charges before I ended up with a 1,300 bill I can't pay. If a more appropriate bill is not presented as an option I will be forced to file with the following: -formal complaint to Laura C. Downes of the Maryland State Board Of Vet Medical Examiners. -small claim court charges with the District Court Of Maryland For Montgomery County for consumer fraud and animal cruelty.
Never saw Dr. Negola but saw Dr. Amsterdam for about a year and a half and decided never again after two incidents. I made an appointment there after doing tons of research on my dogs symptoms. I told her that I thought my elderly dog had Cushings Disease and asked her to confirm that for me. Instead of running two tests to rule it out for me she ran a million tests and several hours later comes out laughing saying at least it was an easy diagnosis and drops an $800 bill!!!!! During his first exam I told her about my dogs coughing which she thought was because of his trachea and prescribed cough suppressants. She saw us again later in the year for the incident mentioned above and prescribed the suppressants again but I didn't like how they affected him so i stopped giving them to him. I started noticing he was coughing more and more after I stopped giving them to him and one night he wouldn't stop and it also looked like he wasnt comfortable breathing. Thank God i wasnt giving him the cough suppressants or it would have been harder to tell he was having a hard time. Turns out my dog had major heart disease and ended up in the emergency room. The ER doc showed me his heart was as round as a grapefruit and way bigger than it should be. She explained that he was struggling to breathe because of fluid in his lungs and that this could have been diagnosed a lot sooner and regulated/monitored with drugs. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure right away and had to be hospitalized for four days. How does a vet miss something like that? You decide. Needless to say I found another vet right away.
Dr Negola is an amazing veterinarian!! He showed immense love and compassion towards my dog. He made sure to take the time to explain everything to me, he definitely went the extra mile!! I felt comfortable with his decisions and his bedside manner was better than any other doctor I've encountered. I highly recommend taking your pet to see Dr Negola!! I know everyone worries about cost, considering the area we live in the prices aren't that bad. I am willing to pay a couple extra dollars to make sure that my furbaby is in the hands of someone as knowledgeable and experienced as Dr Negola.
We've depended on Negola's Ark for 6 years to see to the care of our two cats. We originally went there after a horrible experience with another vet and we sought out recommendations for the best vet. They are a little more pricey than other vets in the area and the staff can be somewhat distracted but the care has been top notch. The vets and techs have been very knowledgeable, willing to explain health issues and it is obvious they care. When one cat needed surgery they brought in a specialist and made sure we were informed and satisfied before, during and after. Even when faced with the fighting, frantic, feline fireballs that are our cats at the vet they make every effort to see they are made comfortable.
