Only called on the phone to ask a few questions and was put on hold three times. I only asked two questions.
I give 5 stars for the doctor... I took my guinea pig to see Dr. Schwartz. He's very knowledgeable and provided my piggy with the right medicine. Her problem cleared up immediately. He was very gentle and answer any questions or concerns I had. I felt confident that my piggy was in good hands. I give 4 stars for the check-in... I did not see a sign-in sheet and had to wait to be called. It seemed like a bit of an organized way to get people in and registered. I did not know if I was next in line or if the other person waiting. Overall, spacious parking in the back of the building, entrance has a second double door entry; all glass doors allow you to see who is coming in or going out. Staff is very friendly. Facility is very clean.
I have been going to the WAH with my 1 1/2 year old dog Ori for a few months now. We have been there a couple of times. The staff and vets are nice and friendly, especially with Ori, but I feel they need to be more clear about the costs of the different things they do there. And, I am not the only one. Check Yelp. In my case, for example, they applied saline solution on Ori's ears for $40. If I knew this would be the charge, I would have done it at home. They also wanted to charge extra $59 annual exam visit 3 weeks after checking on his hears and finding a mild infection. I felt the first visit with Dr. Johnson went better in terms of necessary and unnecesary procedures and costs. Our previous vet even got our former dog's ear checked and cleaned as part of the visit at no extra cost. Unfortunately, they are located much further away from our new home. If you have a limited budget for your pet, be sure to ask the costs of things here though in the case of Dr. Sussman, she wasn't sure of costs, or you may get a surprise at checkout time.
Most procedures are performed out of sight of the owner -- and if you object to this, you get a lecture about how you should not make your dog uncomfortable by showing tension. Given the downright awful "4th time must be a charm" attempt at a blood draw that I did witness here, I cannot recommend this practice. A TV blares in the waiting area - and you will be waiting.
