I purchased two wellness plans for my "babies", a Pom and a terrier a few months ago and I have been so very pleased! I live on a small soc sec check, so the amount is a bit of a sacrifice, but it means everything to me to have such loving people caring for my dogs' health. We've been in about half a dozen times now and the doctor is lovely. The assistants are caring. My dogs LOVE going (and the terrier is very sensitive, he would let me know if someone had been harsh to him). Both of my dogs were rescued and had been mistreated terribly, they are very sensitive, and they love their caregivers at Salisbury, MD Banfield. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but for excellent medical care, I'm willing to go the extra mile. (I pay 80 per month) I got the high-end plan for the dog who is older and had been most abused, and the "regular" plan for the other. It's an amount I don't mind giving for peace of mind and wonderful care!... MRS Marvin Kahler
I would never go there. The actions of one of their Vet Techs has tainted my view of this Vet office due to her actions regarding her former Great Dane.
Excellent, very friendly and helpful staff. They have convenient hours, open on the weekends, available appointments with little or no notice. Prices are reasonable and the wellness plan is a great value. I picked up a stray dog with some health concerns and I was able to have him seen that day. Everyone was so nice and understanding, I would recommend this pet hospital to anyone who loves their pet.
I would never, ever take my pet here. Not only is it extremely expensive, but Dr. Cassuto was a terrible veterinarian. When scheduling an appointment we informed the staff that we were bringing in a newly adopted shelter dog...as a prewarning for how she might behave. When we brought her in, the vet tech, Marissa, was wonderful with her. However, Dr. Cassuto was not. He would not get near out 11 pound jack russell terrier, I suppose in fear that she might hurt him [even though she was muzzled]. He seemed to be completely terrified of the animal, and blamed us and our lack of socializing her. Seeing as we had had her for three days, and that she was a shelter dog before we adopted her, I found this both rude and disrespectful. Dr. Cassuto seems very unprofessional. Any person getting into an occupation such as his should be prepared for any type of dog or cat that comes into his office. He should be professional, and not afraid to get near the animal. Our last appointment, Dr. Cassuto was supposed to examine our dog and give her her second distemper shot. The examination was to check and see how an antibiotic and steroid treatment had gone in an attempt to clear up an anal gland infection. Instead, he just gave her the distemper booster and left the room. She never even got her examination. If you're looking for a vet who is compassionate, and unafraid...this is NOT the place to go to.
