My experience with Healing Hands was not what I expected it would be. I found their staff to be very unfriendly with very little exception. Why do most doctors offices have such a sense of entitlement and authority? They don't want people to see in their whole facility when they take the pets in the back. They say it is better for the pet and the pet owner, but maybe it is just for there convienience. There have been many Doctors come and go as well as staff. I have heard from many others that are not satisfied as well. If you want to pay high price for image, be my guest. I want the very best for my pet and I will be going to another Vet that offers more compassion in a more down to earth environment.

Prepare yourself for a long review, I love Healing Hands Animal Hospital. They are a bit more expensive than some other vets in the area, but you are paying for quality. I love my dog very much and I think she's worth every penny. If you can afford it, go with Healing Hands. Everyone, even the techs, are extremely knowledgable, and if they can't answer a question they will do research and find out for you. The office is never crowded; I've never had to wait longer than a few minutes for an appointment. They have nice equipment and supplies. I love the lift-up tables in every exam room, thats a great feature for owners of big dogs. Someone always calls to follow up and see how your pet is doing the day after an appointment, even if it was just a vaccination appointment. They have specialists that you can't find at any other office in town. My dog saw the chiropractor several times and we saw great improvement in her mobility. When my dog was diagnosed with cancer, everyone at Healing Hands was very sympathetic. They discussed all the different options with me, and told me they would support whatever decision I made. They helped me find a veterinary oncologist, and they worked with the oncologist to keep my dog on schedule for all the necessary tests and prescriptions. It was a huge relief to know someone was helping me keep all that straight. That was an extremely stressful time in my life, and having such a great team of people backing me up really meant the world. When the time came, Healing Hands sent a doctor out to my house to euthanize. They made it as easy as it possibly could have been. I highly recommend Healing Hands.

When my cat became listless, could not jump into a chair and meowed in pain when a hand pressed her side, I brought her to Healing Hands. Though the cause, determined a few days later to be due to a common cat bite that became infected, the vet was unable to determine this and diagnosed the problem as “Fever of Unknown Origin”. The vet in her diagnosis did not associate the fact that the cat experiencing a sharp pain when pressed on the side with the possibility it was due to a surface wound. Over the next two days the cat was treated to reduce the temperature while the infection spread and her rear leg became lame. During this time neither a second Healing Hands vet nor any of the attending technicians took notice of this deterioration and considered the cat sufficiently healed to be sent home. At the time of discharge the cat was not brought in and no vet was present. A technician was present to dispense information as to what and how to administer some medicine. Upon departure, my cat was given to me in her carrier and I was led to the front desk to pay my bill of $392. When the cat arrived home and was let out of her carrier the extent of her deterioration while at Healing Hands was evident when she was unable to use her right rear leg to walk. Two days later, the cat while licking her wound exposed it sufficiently for me to see that it had become a large infected hole in her side. Upon returning to Healing hands the examining vet was now capable of recognizing the problem and prescribed the correct medication for treatment at an additional cost of $85.19. Had a thorough examination by a competent vet been conducted at the beginning, an accurate diagnosis would have led to a quick recovery, minimum discomfort to the pet, and a substantially reduced medical bill. When I later went to another animal clinic for the cat’s annual exam and shots, I realized how excessive the charges at Healing Hands are. Healing Hands charged more for the annual examination and each shot with the total bill being $124.78 compared to $80 at the other facility. Furthermore, Healing Hands administered a1 yr. rabies shot with tag for $21.84 instead of the available 3 yr. shot applied by the competitor at a cost of $18. In addition to not recommending anyone bring their pet to Healing Hands for anything medical I suggest those who are cost conscious compare their charges to other clinics in the area.
