They are so awesome. I'm from California and moved over to the Portland area an decided to go to this vet to do a physical exam on my pup ,only costed 50 bucks usally costs me 70 back home, really chill vet. Very knowledgeable about animals and how to care for them. They have the extra charismatic, caring , homey feel staff and owners of the business great people. They make you feel welcomed an they are lookin out for the best interest for you animal.Go to these wonderful healers of animals you wont be disappointed. An you'll want to help support there business.

Great place and can tell the staff really care about their job and the animals.

Had my first visit this morning. Great attitudes among the staff, pricing was totally reasonable ($160-ish for exam, all vaccines, heartworm test, and tapeworm medication). Highly recommended.

I have used South Portland Vet since I moved to Maine in 2005 for my dog. They took such good care of her and on multiple occasions, went above and beyond to help me, such as the time she fell down the stairs late at night and tore her leg open, I called and they got me that night. On another occasion, they met me at their office on the weekend, (even though they were closed!!) and spent the time to make sure she was allright, taking xrays and giving her a thorough examination. If I remember correctly, I even got a sympothy card when I had to put her down do to illness that they could no longer treat. I would recommend them to anyone who loves their animals!

Jen and Chris are the BEST:):):) I have two dogs and they have been the dogs vets for the dog whole life's... When my oldest dog a Chocolate Lab was about 6months old he ingested a lethal dose of Advil, I called SPVH and they said bring him right in and saved his life. My younger dog was not acting herself on a Friday night and they got her right in and diagnosed her with Lyme disease... They really go Above and Beyond, Thanks Jen and Chris:):):):):)
