A vet at this practice gave us things we didn't need (including a vaccine we didn't want or ask for because our dog had already had it which she had a record of), ran labs externally that could have been done in-house, and was obnoxious to deal with when we confronted her about it. She gave us a bill for several hundred dollars beyond what we would have been charged elsewhere. Don't go somewhere where they're going to say your animal needs a bunch of stuff that he doesn't, and charges you an arm and a leg -- it's completely unethical. There's a new place in Topsham that we like a lot better where the rates are reasonable, and the vet we see is wonderful with animals.

The entire staff is wonderful. We have three dogs so we have met and had treatment from all the docs and staff. Dr. Noyes and Dr. Friedman saved the life of our senior Australian Cattle Dog by finding a rectal tumor (not always an area vets routinely check), doing surgery, and having Gus totally cancer-free (about 2 years now). They take a conservative approach — sensitive to both the needs of the animals and the humans' budgets. And they really know what they are doing. It's comforting to know that they can do a lot of diagnostic tests right at the clinic. AAH has been our vet for over 6 years. I wouldn't take our two Goldens, Tanner and Olivia, or Gus to anyone else.
