We were looking for hydrotherapy for our 13 year old "baby" who has spondylosis and arthritis and has really slowed down. Green Acres recommended Veazie Vet so we set up a visit for an evaluation. The first visit was very thorough with both Dr Cloutier and the physical therapist, Heather. My husband and I are open to most anything that will help our dog to have a better quality of life but bring a good deal of critical thinking and skepticism to anything we try for her. So we decided that if the first physical therapy session stressed her out or if we felt it was all fluff and no substance we would not go back a second time. We had our first PT session yesterday and walked away amazed. We did not think that she would participate, we didn't think we would see any changes or benefits. BUT she really seemed to enjoy it! Heather explained everything as she went along, she was patient and supportive and you could actually see how each exercise was working to help our dog's specific issues. When a new symptom came up, she brought Dr Cloutier over to monitor her progress and check her so she was not stressed by the exercises. I work in the people medical field so I know there are "charlatans" out there for people and for pets but we were very pleased with this first session and will be going back for more. Yes there is an expense involved but owning an animal means a commitment to that animal and that will involve an expense. We are fine with the cost if it is an honest and researched effort even if the results are minimal but we feel so far Tess has gained a great benefit. We would recommend Veazie Vet and Heather to anyone with a pet in need of this type of service. Thank you Heather and Dr Cloutier.
Its a very clean and gentle facility, but they are salesman. Bills add up very quickly and they reccommend anything that sounds good to the customer, to make more money. They argued with me about my pets rash/lumps and wanted me to either buy their expensive food or have my cat put on steroid shots because they thought it was an allergic reaction. You never put an animal on steiroids when you dont know yet what the allergy is.
There aren't enough good words in the dictionary to describe our esteem for Veazie Vet. Their attentive care for all our animals has been beyond outstanding. We have enriched the life of our elder dog with the advice of VV's wellness and nutritional experts. Our older rescue cat with a heart condition is living an active, happy life thanks to Dr. Cloutier. Dr. Keene's expert assistance with our Chinook's breeding career has resulted in many healthy puppies, and the technical and office staff have always been welcoming, friendly, skilled and understanding. We cannot recommend Veazie Vet highly enough --they are the BEST!
It takes a village….Anyone who has taken their dog through battle knows it takes a village…It takes your love and devotion and dedication to do all you can...But you can’t do it alone…You have to search for the best…Someone who will go the extra mile...Someone who will listen, and goes home at night thinking...Just like you are thinking…and someone who has dedicated their life to animals. My dog Sarge has been to battle. He lost his hind leg in a traumatic car accident. From that moment on I have had so many people fight for him, with him.Because Sarge is a fighter, and doesn’t ever give up, he has no self pity and I will not give up.I stared looking for Doctors and Physical Therapist to help Sarge through his most recent surgery:Pantarsal Arthrodesis. Turns out there aren't many out there in the State of Maine.Fortunately one of Sargeant's most dedicated doctors suggested Veazie Animal Clinic.I contacted them for an evaluation on Sarge.I got an email from Dr. Cloutier at 10:30 at night, and we have never even met.We set up a time to review Sargeant’s case and evaluate his condition.I didn’t even have my coat off and his was on the floor with Sarge checking things out.He listened to me, to Sarge and went to work.Dr. Cloutier and the physical therapist invented solutions on the spot to correct a custom splint that wasn’t fitting Sarge correctly. They spent an hour creating padding and support to correct the splint. It was truly another gift. I couldn’t believe I had found these people. We have only just begun our journey into rehab...but I know I have found the best.Someone who goes the extra mile, and together we will give Sarge a new lease on life and the rewards he deserves for his battles.
Today my eighteen year old friend (corgi and Boston Terrier mix) had the wonderful experience of visiting the Veazie Pet Clinic. She wasn't feeling well and I was pretty scared that this would be the end for us. But the tests needed were done, the x-ray was taken and when the results came back, the day took on a more positive feeling. From the moment you enter their facility you feel the caring of the staff. The building is pet friendly and human comfortable. For someone with very limited financial means a visit to any professional can be very stressful, but the main emphasis was definiately the health of Gizmo (my friend). Dr. Cloutier did her exam and I noted how he interacted with her, while passing information over his shoulder to his assistant who entered it into the computer. There was no feeling that we were taking up his time or that another case was more important. The vet was focused on what was going on in the exam room he was in. As an over protective human, that means a lot to me. The love of animals is very evident in his interactions, and I would urge anyone who has a pet needing care to give these people a call. Thank you all! You are wonderful at what you do. Blessings, Rev. Clare McEwen (and Gizmo)
