Dr Friel and his staff are the most sensitive and caring anyone could ask for! I had an older kitty 20 yrs- who had been making the hour long trip to his Vet when he became ill - I could not make him drive the hour and called Dr Friel as a recommendation of a dear friend. Beebee had just been for a complete physical with blood work 2 weeks prior that were normal- so Dr. Friel suggested a dose of sub-Q fluids to combat the dehydration. I took Beebee back home fearing that the end was near. The next morning he had come upstairs and jumped on my bed to wake me up- he was feeling 100% better. Beebee survived another 2.5 yrs! Thank you Dr. Friel for giving me that little extra time- He was the sweetest kitty and I still miss him!

I have two cats that are lovable however do not like strangers or being held, They only like to come to sit next to you. Dr. Bill Pollock handled both of my cats as if they were his own and they never showed fear and just sat there while he worked on them as if they knew him all there lives. He has a great sense of humor and is so kind. Thank you Dr. Pollock.

The vets are great here. The receptionist is unpleasant and hard to work with, however. I didn't look forward to going to this establishment because of the receptionist, and so left for another vet hospital.

I adopted a feral cat in November - in December I brought him to a different vet in the area for a check up; they were great but told me that they needed my cats records before they could see him again. It is now January and my cat has been having ear problems. I decided to bring him to the Westbrook Animal Hospital since this is where his records were. When I made the appointment I specified where I got my cat and what name he was under. The appointment was made. I brought my cat in for his appointment today; and while they were great about me running 5 minutes behind they were not great about anything else. After waiting for 10 minutes the receptionist returns to tell me that the doctor will not see my cat unless he is sedated. Apparently, in November, when he was fixed and given his shots he freaked out had an accident, and (as the paperwork says) "climbed the walls". I told her that he has been to a vet since and was fine - to please ask the doctor to at least come out to see the cat and to see that he was okay now - and even offered to hold him while he looked at his ears. She returned a few minutes later to say that the doctor would NOT see this cat unless he was sedated. The doctor, who mind you, I had an appointment with so he had the TIME to come look at the cat, would not even walk out of his office to look. Apparently once a bad animal always a bad animal to this animal clinic. In good conscience I could NOT let them sedate my cat (he is a prince!) and certainly not without even LOOKING at him. I left the clinic, with his records and will be returning to the previous vet that I saw in December; we will NEVER go here again and I highly suggest you don't either.

The Westbrook Animal Hospital provides affordable, honest, gentle veterinary care for our pets. They also take care of my (sedated) feral cat too. A huge bonus! I also love that they participate in the spay/neuter program and medical care of pets with Animal Refuge League and have for as long I've known the ARL. That says A LOT!!!
