Both Dr Rode and Dr Critchfield have treated our dogs, giving the best care available. We have such confidence in the doctors and staff that we frequently board our dog at their kennel. The staff is helpful and all of them obviously care deeply about our animal and the many others they see. There are ridiculous reviews here that infer the Doctors don't care or work in the interest of the pet. That is total nonsense. We have had a dog put to sleep in the hospital and there was absolutely no evidence of a lack of care or compassion. The falseness of the claim is clearly evident from the fact that the writer only refers to her own pecuniary issues and never says her dog wasn't well cared for. D&N Solo
I have 3 cats and 3 dogs and they have gone out of their way to make sure my friends are all taken care of. If their was a problem you had you needed to talk more and judge less. Your vet from the other state should have been willing to fax records etc...Because their are miscommunications, indicating someone is human, doesn't mean they are an overall bad place to go. It simply means that your vet from out of state didn't do their part by making sure you had the records you needed to make a state change. Each state has their own requirements...like Hawaii has special requirements to let pets into a state. They were probably just trying to be through....go to Lane if your going to be grieved over the little stuff...
I live several miles away from Chelsea Animal Hospital and would not think of switching vets. They were very caring when our beloved cat caught toxic plasmosis and did everything they could to save her. (Another vet refused to even see her) When our family dog had to be put to sleep rather then be in constant pain from a tumor, the staff gave a book called "Dog Heaven" to my young children and talked to them very compassionately. They have alway been very helpful from helping find homes for a new litter of puppies to keeping us updated on how our pets did following a spaying procedure. They are simply the best vets around.
I have had nothing but good experiences here, as have my pets. I like how they work with owners to find cost effective treatments that provide care without breaking the bank. They have helped a lot of people keep their pets healthy in difficult times, and they have done their share of pro bono care for families with sick pets who could not afford treatment. I have had nothing but high quality care and good advice. They always return calls, and my appointments are on time. They are pretty busy, but that is because they also have reasonable rates.
Best vet I've ever been to. Chelsea Animal Hospital is very honest and understands that not all procedures are necessary. They will not pressure you into a procedure that your pets don't need to have.
