They are consistently unfriendly when dealing with sensitive issues dealing with family pets, and are over priced for minimal work. We have taken both of my family pets, a yorkie and a orange tabby cat for the past few years. We've taken the orange tabby in several times due to consistent vomiting and had multiple tests done. In October 2012, we took her in to once again try and figure out what was wrong with her, and Schmitt's proceded to tell us she was fine. Last night, we took her to an 24/7 animal emergency center because she was vomiting blood, and they who told us she had cancer. We called Schmitt's to relay the paper work and x-rays from the animal emergency room to my cat's fie. Schmitts then said that THE TESTS THAT THEY HAD DONE IN OCTOBER STATED SHE HAD LYMPHOMA AND THAT IT WAS DISCUSSED WITH US. This is a lie, it was never ever discussed, and had we known we would have not allowed our cat to suffer for 6 months living with cancer. So basically, they knew our cat had cancer but never told us. They are a disgrace to veterinary hospitals every where. They should be ashamed of their lack of communication and professional attitude.

When I got my puppy, I looked around for a vet near my house. My sister took her dog to Schmitt's so I decided to give it a try. Everything was good for a while, then I received a post card saying my dog's shots were due. So I called to ask how much it'd cost (as I needed to budget for it) and they gave me a quote. I took my dog in and when it was time to pay, the bill was $43 higher than the quote! They said it was the exam fee, and that was standard. But then why didn't they tell me that in the first place WHEN I ASKED?! The exam consisted of feeling my dog's legs to make sure they bend properly and weighing her. I ended up getting $20 taken off because I complained, and I think more importantly, I just didn't have the money for the unexpected cost.
