If you value your pet's life at all, stay clear of this vet. She doesn't know what she's doing. My daughter took her 5 year old cat there when he showed signs of illness. First visit she was told he had allergies and put him on an over the counter antihistamine. Said bring him back in 2 weeks. Which she did because he had gotten worse. Blood work, urine test and x-rays were done. Chest x-ray was terrible. Dr.Harris said he had asthma/pneumonia. Put him on a bunch of drugs. Nothing was working. She took him in again. This time they kept him overnight giving him fluids is all. Long story short. Over a 2 month period, my daughter kept bringing him in because he was only getting worse. Labored breathing, no appetite, weight loss, lethargic. Dr. Harris just kept re doing the same tests over. Showing nothing different! She was stuck on stupid! Kept putting this cat through hell, with urine and blood tests and x-rays that showed NO improvement. Can we move on now doc and try a different route??? By this time his bladder started failing too. Dr. Harris had no clue to what might be happening to our poor boy. Finally I talked my daughter into taking him to the vet I go to. Right away my vet said "his lungs look like shit! This cat DOES NOT have asthma. He is wasting away!" Because he was also rapidly losing weight. Let me remind you this cat is only 5 years old! My vet said he is only 5 and should not have pneumonia. We need to figure out WHY. She suspected FIP or Lymphoma or both. She immediately sent out his blood to an outside lab to test for more serious things. In the meantime he needed his bladder unblocked or his bladder could rupture. My vet didn't want to put a cat under with his lungs in such poor condition but we had no choice. He did "Ok" with the unblocking, but by morning took a turn for the worst. He had to be euthanized. I wish we would have gotten him to a REAL vet sooner, known we were dealing with a fatal illness and stopped all the needless poking and prodding! His last days on earth were horrible. Also she doesn't have all the equipment. She told my daughter to take him to an emergency place where they have an ultrasound machine. I told my daughter my vet has one! Let's get him out of Trenton vet now! Knowing she didn't know what was going on with our cat, Dr. Harris still drew more blood. Saying it would be cheaper for her to do it there before taking him to E.R. Oh really??? She should know damn well where ever my daughter takes him they will want to take more blood so they can test it further, not just keep repeating the SAME routine blood work that continues to show nothing!!!! The whole thing is sickening. My daughter spent $1,600 altogether at Trenton Vet and Dr. Harris has the nerve to put charges on the bill in the amount of $2.50 for hazardous waste disposal??? What in the heck?? What is that for?? All the vet's I've been to in my lifetime, I have yet to see that. I say shame on you! Someone continues to take their dying cat to you, spending tons of money and you can't help yourself from putting frivolous charge's on their bill? Or how about a $30 charge for taking his blood pressure?? If you were any kind of Vet at all, flags would have went up that a 5 year old house cat should not have pneumonia! Flags went up all over the place for my vet! Too bad it was too late for him and we didn't even get to have him at home with us on his last night on this earth. He spent it in a cage fighting to stay alive! I would like to give ZERO stars.
