Not the best experience. Cat was diagnosed with UTI. I have spent over $300.00 and the cat still has a UTI. The last visit I was given medication and told by the vet tech that if my cat had problems with it, that the vet would buy it back as the pills were individually packaged. After my cat got sick off the medication, I called back and was told that I would need another prescription and they would not be buying back the medication. Interestingly, this medication would only be $25.00 compared to the other medications that were around $50-60. I'm not sure why they didn't offer the cheapest medication to me first. Multiple visits and no results. Taking my business elsewhere.
took my dog because he had allergies for unknown reasons... they put him on antibiotics for 3 weeks and 2 month of limited ingredient diet.. which turned out he was allergic to, we were feeding poor dog for 2 month nothing but allergenes. they didnt even test him or offered an allergy test.
We just moved to the Walled Lake area and needed to find a new vet (we loved our vet in East Lansing) for our dog and cats, my husband called several places (including the Walled Lake Vet Clinic) and got the best vibe from the staff at Wixom Vet Clinic. We have since taken our dog for routine tests and heartworm pills and was very pleased. We also went through taking our sick cat there and ended up having her euthanized due to having a large tumor around her spine. The vet and staff was excellent and very caring throughout the whole event even though we were new customers. Now we are dealing with another issue and again the staff has been nothing but helpful and very knowledgeable and have been terrific in working with us on buying in small amounts to help us keep costs down!! So far so good!!
I took my dog to the to this vet clinic because of the reviews. Everyone seemed to really like this place. Pros were office was very clean, staff was friendly. My dog was sick for unknown reasons, and I couldn't afford all the tests they wanted to run, and the owner lowered price to what I could afford which was very kind of her to do. The cons actually concern the vet I saw. She came across as not very knowledgeable and she was very very pushy about putting my dog on meds before knowing what was wrong with her. When I questioned her, she acted like I shouldn't be questioning her judgement. To me it seemed silly to worry about a few seizures when the dog isn't eating, lost 1/8th of her body weight, and refused to move. Long story short, my dog ended up having to be put down because of a liver shunt that made her ill very fast and there wasn't anything the new vet I took her to could do to help her. While i thought office was very nice and staff as well, I don't like the way the vet handled my dog's sickness and treated me, so therefore I won't be bringing any more dogs here. The vet who put kindly put my dog down for me will be the one I bring future dogs to as she seems much more knowledgeable and sensitive to people's concerns and questions.
We visited Wixom Vet for the first time with our dog yesterday. This was our experience: the staff was super nice, they answered all my questions, the prices were reasonable, they were loving and friendly to my dog and my kids, the vet was gentle and personable, and the office was super clean! I'm not being paid or benefited by this review in any way. In fact, I've never left an online review until now. After seeing so many negative opinions on other vets (which deterred me from visiting them), I chose Wixom Vet. So, if any vet owners are reading this, please be sure that people read these reviews and if they see too many negatives, they won't go to you... Anyway, Wixom Vet is where we will stay. Big A+ from this family!!
