It has been two years since I have moved to this area, and have taken all my pets (3 cats and a dog) to here. The staff is kind and courteous, the prices are great, and it's nice to see some local feral/stray cats being taken care of too. Would defiantly recommend Ypsi Animal Clinic to anyone.
We've been going to Ypsilanti Animal Clinic for 12 years. The vets are extremely skilled, knowledgeable and keep up with the latest research. They don't suggest unnecessary procedures. All the staff have high standards of professionalism while serving with compassion and warmth. This is the most dedicated, ethical and caring veterinary practice I've ever been too. I'm grateful for their contributions to our community.
I have been taking my Shih Tzu Sparty here since I got him and the whole staff have been wonderful with him. They take time to explain everything to me and always have Sparty best interest at heart. Thank you Ypsilanti Animal Clinic.
We are new to the area and took our elderly cat in with a swollen face. The vet literally spent three minutes in the room talking to us and "examining" our cat. (His "examination" consisted of looking in the cats mouth and pinching his skin - no auscultation of the heart or lungs or anything else). He then left and a few minutes later his Assistant came back and spent longer going over their detailed written "estimate" ((it was like I took a caR - not my caT- in for an "estimate") for treatment than the Vet spent in the room. It was $47 for three minutes of the vet's time, and they wanted over $61 for an antibiotic (& I was told they could not give me a prescription for it - in over 20 years of animal-ownership that was the first time I have ever been forced to buy medicine from the vet). They also wanted over $44 to give the cat a dose of subcutaneous fluids (or $22 if I wanted to buy a bag of fluids from them). Then came the real money part - $197 for blood work plus $200-250 for dental surgery. As a Medical Doctor, I do not like to criticize other health professionals, but I left there feeling like I should go file a police report. We definitely won't be going back. And we stopped at another vet's office in Ypsilanti where they sold us a bag of Ringers Lactate (for subcutaneous fluids) for $5 - 17 dollars cheaper. As an animal lover I'd have to advise STAY AWAY!!
We have always had good service there. We moved to the area over a year ago and needed a vet for our cat and two dogs and a neighbor suggested them. My cat has an allergy problem we tried a couple of things that didn't work so now I go every two months and get her a steroid shot. What I like is that they didn't run needless tests or do all kinds of things just to run up the bill and make money as a vet I had used downriver where I used to live did. there prices are reasonable and they are always friendly to us. Getting an appt. is easy and I would recommend this clinic to anyone who has a pet.
