DO NOT TAKE YOUR PRECIOUS ANIMALS HERE. After moving to MN from Colorado and knowing our dog needed a very expensive knee replacement surgery, we did a lot of research on a vet clinic to take her to. East Valley appeared to be great. We made an appointment with Dr Razinger, because again she was experienced and qualified and thought highly of her for being the owner of the clinic. During our pre-op appointment Dr Razinger stated our dog would need to be sedated for xrays prior to surgery for the orthopedic vet to look at images of her damaged knee. (Something our vet in CO said was not necessary.) This would cost an additional $400 on top of the $3000 surgery. After thinking about it and not wanting to put my dog under further trauma, I asked if this could be done immediately before surgery while she would already be sedated; rather then putting her through 2 separate sedations. The Dr sighed and said yes they could probably do that. I also asked if my husband and I would have the opportunity to speak with the orthopedic vet surgeon prior to surgery just to calm our fears and meet with him. This was again met with a heavy sigh by Dr Razinger and said that was not something they usually could arrange but she would see what she could do. Surgery day-- we met with the ortho surgeon for a total of 5 minutes but he was great. Very friendly and very reassuring. Surgery was a success. We picked up our dog that evening and the staff at East Valley stated everything went well but they were "not sure if our dog had gone potty at all." Ok, no problem, we will take her home and watch her. Well long story short, 3 days passed without my dog urinating ONCE. I called East Valley several times who told me not to worry, she would go potty when she needed too. Now as an RN, I know it's a critical emergency when a human being does not void within 12 hours of surgery; so how is it safe that my dog who has been eating and drinking consistently post operatively not have voided for 3 days?? We decided to consult an emergency pet hospital in Apple Valley, who said she needed to immediately come in to be evaluated. After an additional $200 in bills from the Vet Hospital our precious dog was given the care she needed and her bladder was manually palpated to void. I called Dr Razinger the following morning to express my concerns over their lack of regard for the situation and how concerned the emergency hospital was about the situation. Dr Razinger proceeded to tell me that East Valley had been "nothing but accommodating to me and my dog and had gone above and beyond with all of my requests; from arranging for me to speak to the ortho vet surgeon, to scheduling only one sedation instead of 2, etc etc." I did not ask for any time of compensation for our emergency vet bill, but she however went on to say that they were not liable to compensate me for that bill "if I FELT it was necessary for her to get emergency attention." I explained the emergency vet said it was necessary for her to be evaluated, not me, to which she responded the vet did not know the whole situation! Now fast forward 3 months, my dog is due for a vaccination. I call today to schedule that and I am told they will not give her vaccination without another physical which will cost $50. I explained our dog had had surgery there recently which required a pre-op physical and a post-op follow up physical so I did not feel it was necessary she needed an additional physical. They refused to give vaccine without me paying for a physical too. We will be taking our business else where. Our precious dog is far too important for us to risk her health at East Valley Animal Clinic. They care nothing about pet owners concerns and are out for your money.

I highly recommend East Valley. I take my cat and dog there. Very friendly staff that care about animals. Recently my dog cracked her nail and Dr Takeuchi was very accommodating and was able to get her all bandaged up.

The staff is wonderful and very caring. We brought our sick dog in and the staff explained all our options in details and let us decide what fit our situation. With proper care, our pet stayed with us a few more years. When the time came to end his struggle, the staff could not have been more considerate of him needs or ours.

If your looking for a place to take advantage of you and your pet you have found it. I started going to East Valley to try and find a local vet that took care of their patrons, instead I found a vet that overcharged for their medications, forced you to run unnecessary test in order to incur additional expenses. When they made a mistake in testing they tried to blame the testing company and charge for a second time, when the mistake was clearly theirs. In addition they would only try and sell you small quantities of medications when buying in bulk was more cost effective, which does not seem like an organization that is looking out for the best interest of their customers. This seems to be a business looking to make a dollar at your pets expense. Thankfully, I never needed any major surgery done on my pet as I could only imagine what outrages fees and trumped up costs they would charge. Clearly this is a vet more interested in making a dollar than caring for the well being of your pets.

Every one I spoke to was great. I wanted my cat declawed and the receptionist spent 15 minutes with me over the phone discussing the procedure, the costs, preparations, and the aftermath. When I took my cat in every person I came into contact with were more than polite and helpful. I have to drive over 35 minutes to get there, but will gladly do it for their professionalism and excellent service.
