I agree with the feeling about the vet being a little harsh but I know he is just trying to make sure you understand what is best for your pets. I love the staff, they are very friendly and knowledgeable. I have brought my two dogs and my chinchilla here and I have no complaints. I very much prefer this clinic over some of the bigger clinics I've been to in the past.

DON'T GET YOUR CAT FIXED HERE. The staff is undoubtedly knowledgeable--but their procedures are not thorough enough. My kittens stitches popped out after 5 days and minimal activity--the painkillers they gave her didn't sedate her AT ALL, they pretty much just made her not feel the pain and behave as normal (aka, like a kitten). On top of that only gave me 5 doses, for 5 days total. Had to take her to emergency vet, who replaced her worthless stitches with real metal ones that will hold, and gave me TWO TYPES OF MEDICATION. Now her wound is shut tight, she's relaxing and sedated and healing, and they even gave her an IV. She came back from Companion vet SHAKING and terrified. She came back from the emergency vet sleepy and fixed and purring. You decide, I guess. WOULDN'T RECOMMEND.

I can't speak to the blood results, but would like to address your review of the Dr. I can relate to your comments -- I have gone to several vets over the years and went to Dr Gandara on a recommendation. The first couple times I left his office, I felt the same way - but something happened while I went through losing my 10 year old yellow lab when cancer consumed his bowels. I began to see him in a different light -- yes, he speaks his mind and sometimes comes across as harsh but he really does have the best interest of the animal in mind at all times and is very passionate about what he does - I began to understand that he was not talking down to me as much as he is very excited for me to learn as much as I can about my animals and what I can do to give them the best possible life -- I have a dog with some very rare issues, he has not been ashamed to tell me that he didn't know all there was to know about the issues, but was very excited and determined to learn all he could about it -- don't give up on him and in the end, I hope, like me you will see that he is a wonderful vet.

We have had only positive experiences. Our yellow lab is 2 and we've been with this vet since the first shots. The care is very personalized and all the staff clearly love animals. The doctor gave very practical advice for us being new dog owners. Prices are fairly reasonable compared to other vets in the Twin Cities area.

Just moved to this vet so with my pets getting older in case something happened I would not have the drive I had with my last vet. I had an emergency with my oldest dog and had all the tests they advised. Then went to the emergency hospital do find they discovered in blood tests an issue. Follow up appointment the vet mentioned how the issue discovered happens a lot and once again wanted full blood tests. The second set of tests show what the emergency hospital found in their blood tests but levels were now normal. Question being is the same blood tests why did I see different things being checked. Plus I felt like I was being talked down to like I knew nothing about dogs that I have lived with sense I was young and he might not have meant to do that. First site I have felt like they look for ways to get more money from you. The staff was great that I dealt with and they get the two stars
