We moved to 'metro mn' in 2006, after three other small animal vets we found Dr. Stoltz. I have absolutely no reason, nor would I want to bring our English Bulldogs and occasional stray, anywhere else (doc stoltz realizes that if their breathing isnt affecting their health and lifestyle the dogs are good and doesn't recommend unnecessary surgery so they arent so loud. Doc Stoltz is articulate, works with our budget, and her competency for small animal internal medicine and pathology of disease is expansive and brilliant. Currently, our female is undergoing treatment/surgery for mammary tumors. We are fortunate that we have never had a trauma, but we also had a polydactayl cat we inherited from my mom, that had to have his claws removed after 2 years of repeat infections...I was extremely worried he'd have joint issues and ALOT of pain, after the second day home we had to figure out ways to keep him quiet instead!. I whole heartily believe the main staff are there for our pets, everyones' pets and the ability to to prolong life and give blessing through their skills, medicine and nutrition. It moves me to tears to write this (im not emotional persay) as when I found the lumps on our dog, I had little hope...now we not only have options in budget, but solutions...our Tempy has a future.

I took my dog here to get spayed and received terrible results. I ended up having to take her into the emergency vet within hours because they didn't give her any pain medications, but told me the pills they sent me home with were pain meds. My dog was having trouble breathing after and was in so much pain that the emergency clinic was scared for her life. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PUPPY HERE TO GET SPAYED.. I wish I wouldn't have made the mistake.

Horrible service. When we got our 2nd dog, she had contracted a GI virus from the rescue she was at. At this vet, they simply stated she had a food sensitivity and proceeded to sell us their very expensive food. We found out what really was the problem after getting our 3rd rescue dog (after our 1st one died-more on that later) 7 years later who had the very same thing. At our new/current vet, it was diagnosed with a simple fecal test followed by meds. Our current vet knew exactly what it was when we explained what was going on. Our 1st rescue dog was in pain for months, and they blew us off multiple times. "Oh, older dogs just do that." Got a 2nd opinion finally, got him meds. It was something super simple too that the vet tech at our current vet was able to tell us (pain tremors) with us just describing it over the phone, but apparently it was too challenging for the staff at Northern Lights when they even witnessed it. He ended up dying due this vet's negligence since his problem had progressed to a point where nothing could be done. They are very condescending, couldn't be bothered to answer questions, or explain treatment options. Run the other way. For your pet's sake.

Terrible customer service on the phone. The vet jumped 3 times when my puppy was getting her one shot so she got pricked 4 times for ONE shot. Didn't schedule the next appointment for my puppies next shot and told me come back in 3-4 months. 3-4 months passes and then they said the shots have to be done in a 3-4 week window and I will have to start the series over again. She already had her first shot twice because she wasn't up to date when I got her. Switched where I take my puppy to the vet real fast!

I think Liz is absolutely awesome! My cat has gone her for the past 3 years and she totally works with my budget if my cat is ill. Liz is very nice and I have recommended her to others in the CoonRapids/Blaine area that I know. The only thing I would change is the staff front desk chicks... they are so gossipy and act like they hate their job. You can tell the just cant wait to get outta there. Otherwise-Liz and the other vets on her team and really good.
