Dr. Oachs and his staff are absolutely fantastic, delivering a world class vet experience. I discovered them as a recommendation when a friend heard about the astronomical prices I was being charged at New Hope Animal hospital. Dr. Oachs took the time to address my concerns, always gave me several options regarding the care of my cat, and even gave me a lesson in how to determine if my cat's bladder was full (since he was having urinary tract blockage issues). This helped me be able to determine whether or not I needed to bring him in. I've moved all over the metro area, but no matter where I land, I will always, always take my animals to Diamond Lake. They're the best!

Great service and availability, and the facility is very nice. Dr. Oakes and Dr. Peterson have both cared for our golden retriever wonderfully over the past 6 months since we brought him home. Prices are also very reasonable - we are extremely satisfied with DLAH and would strongly recommend to anyone.

While the staff and Dr. Oaks himself seemed fine (friendly, knowledgeable, and personable), their rating was really affected by the condition of their facilities. The waiting room smelled very strongly of cat urine and just didn't seem clean overall. I've never been to a vet that smelled that strongly of cats before. After waiting for five minutes I was having a terrible allergy attack. They also took my dog into the back to draw blood for heart worm and to give her a vaccination shot. I didn't get to see the condition of the back room, but the impression I got from the front makes me nervous about the back. I also would have liked to see them administer the vaccination instead of having them do it out of my sight. Even though the everyone seemed competent and friendly, the condition of the facilities alone will probably keep me from ever going back to this clinic again.

I highly recommend Dr. Oakes and his staff. They are courteous and competent. This is my new vet: My female cat was recently spayed at this clinic: Excellent job, the cat was not stressed at all and you can barely see the incision (internal stitches). I have had other 2 cats spayed before and this is the CLEANEST job I have seen so far at the most honest price I have ever paid.

The renovation is terrific. I've been coming here since 1984 and all my pets have been cared for with kindness and competence. Dr. Oakes and the staff are truly good-hearted. Last year I was matched with a stray kitten I didn't know I needed but Dr. Oakes thought she would be a good fit with my other two cats. She surely has added so much pleasure to my household. Dr. Oakes gets to know his pet patients and their owners. Always a warm welcome.
