I took my cat to Uptown Veterinarian for the last five years of his life and the entire team is wonderful to work with. They were always so good to him and looked out for his best interest. When we found the tumor on the bottom of his tongue, they were very thorough at explaining what was happening and what the options were. They looked out for my cat’s well being, quality of life and patiently helped me do the right thing for him. When he was starting to struggle to eat, it was time to put him to sleep and they were all accommodating when I couldn’t stop crying and let me stay with him as long as I needed to, let me say goodbye at my own speed. A couple days later, a sympathy card came in the mail and all of them signed it. I found that to be a total class act. Also, if you have pain medication left after your furry friend dies, they have a system set up to let you donate it to animals with owners who can’t afford it. A couple things I noticed right away when I started taking my cat there was they all truly appreciate animals. They have a separate cat waiting room and dog waiting room. The building is an old house and my cat felt at home right away. This is the best vet I ever took him to. I only wish they could have been his provider the whole time I had the pleasure of his company.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Smith and her team. This is the second pug I have had under Dr. Smith's care, and each of them has had significant health issues.They've been consistently fair, reasonable, willing to work with me on care management for long-term health concerns, and great with my dogs. Dr. Smith provides basic care and surgeries,and has referred me to others for special opthalmological and chiropractic care for my dogs. My last series of visits was for a life-threatening emergency. My dog was seen FAST, treated well, and everyone was so willing to help me with learning to catheterize him over the weekend when my only other option was the emergency vet. Great follow-up, always gets back to me quickly. Doesn't try to brush you off or make money by "add-ons." Reasonable cost, excellent quality basic care. Very nice people, too.

Consistent care, 14 years! I've been taking my pets there for 14 years and have nothing but great things to say about them. My pets have all received excellent care at this vet. I had a Samoyed who lived to be 14, and a cat who was much older. Dr. Smith is knowledgable, personable, helpful, and really cares about the animals. They don't perform unnecessary tests or procedures, or prescribe unnecessary medications. Their rates are reasonable too! My pets love her and the techs! If you're looking for a vet who cares about your pets as much as you - this is the place!

I took my two month old puppy to get his first check-up and continuation of shots/worming/ect. The staff was great--so friendly and helpful. Dr. Smith was very easy to talk to. I told her this was my first puppy and that I was new to the area. She not only explained what my dog would need in the first year, but also gave me some information on the area, where I would need to go to register our pup, and also just about the neighborhood in general. I was also shocked by how reasonable her prices were--They were cheaper than my parent's vet in Iowa. For a check-up, worming, and shot, it was far cheaper than I had expected. 5 stars for Dr. Smith.

One of the best vet's I've ever taken my animals to, you can tell Dr. Smith really cares about each and every animal she sees, she is always more than willing to answer questions and take time with you, even when they are clearly very busy (which is frequent). One of my best experiences I had was when I called to get an appointment for my cat, after I told them my cat was urinating blood, they got me in on the same day so I wouldn't have to go to the emergency vet.
